"Lady Zion" or "Daughter Zion" (Bat Tzion) isn't a single person but a powerful personification of Jerusalem, the people of Israel, or Judah, used in the Old Testament to describe their relationship with God, often in prophetic passages about judgment, covenant, and future restoration, as a cherished yet sometimes wayward daughter. She represents the holy city as a young woman, reflecting God's protective care, and later, her fall from grace and potential for redemption.
Jerusalem, the center of cultic worship and capital of the Judean people, is personified throughout poetic and prophetic biblical passages as a woman—“Daughter Zion (bat tzion)” or “Fair Zion” (as in 2 Kings 19:21, Psalm 9:15, Isaiah 1:8, and so forth).
The phrase "sons of God married the daughters of men" comes from Genesis 6:1-4, describing a period before the great flood where divine beings or a righteous human lineage intermarried with ordinary women, resulting in powerful, giant offspring called Nephilim (mighty men of old), leading to widespread corruption and God's decision to send the flood. Interpretations vary: the most traditional view sees angelic beings mating with humans, while others suggest godly descendants of Seth marrying wicked descendants of Cain, or powerful rulers taking wives.
This woman is the daughter of Zion, an abstract and inspiring embodiment of the future glorification and enthronement of the House of Israel and the Nephites. The daughter of Zion is a poetic personification of the city Jerusalem, and by extension is a metaphor for the House of Israel.
Jesus didn't directly speak much about "Zion," but the term symbolized God's holy city, Israel, and ultimately the heavenly kingdom in the New Testament, a spiritual reality fulfilled through Jesus, who is the cornerstone of this new spiritual Zion for believers. While the Old Testament focused on physical Zion (Jerusalem/Temple), Jesus's teachings and New Testament writers like Paul and John expanded Zion to mean the spiritual people of God, the Church, and the eternal New Jerusalem.
Put simply, Zion is the holy city of God. This refers to both the physical city of Jerusalem and the spiritual kingdom of God. Zion is physical in the sense that much of God's historical and redemptive work occurred in and around Jerusalem (think Abraham, David, even Jesus!).

In these and other similar texts,9 the “daughter of Zion” refers to faithful Israel as a whole, awaiting her Lord and King. However, Mary is the daughter of Zion par excellence because she sums up the expectation of Israel for the Messiah. She is the perfect Virgin awaiting her Lord to come in her midst.

Christian canonical scriptures do not record the death or Dormition of Mary. Hippolytus of Thebes, a 7th- or 8th-century author, writes in his partially preserved chronology of the New Testament that Mary lived for 11 years after the death of Jesus, dying in AD 41.
Mount Zion (Hebrew: הַר צִיּוֹן, Har Ṣīyyōn; Arabic: جبل صهيون, Jabal Sahyoun) is a hill in Jerusalem, located just outside the walls of the Old City to the south.
Micah and Isaiah both prophesied that Mount Zion would be exalted to lead and teach the nations. Revelation 14 tells how John heard an angel declare that Babylon would be destroyed (see v. 8). Revelation 16:19 begins the account of that destruction, and Revelation 17–18 continues the account in greater detail. As in other parts of Revelation, the destruction of Babylon is described using symbolic language.
“Zion” is transliterated into Arabic and Syriac as Ṣahyūn. Classical Arab lexicographers, such as Ibn Manẓūr in Lisan al-'Arab, note that the word describes an elevated, protected place—a meaning befitting the hilly terrain of Jerusalem. Syriac Christian sources that pre-date Islam also use Ṣahyūn for the city.
