In the Christian tradition, Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” He is emphasizing that despite what the crowd might be saying about him, it is imperative that they know who he is. It is equally important that we know who Jesus, God, or the Spirit is for us.
While they were traveling, Jesus asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They answered, “Some say you are John the Baptist. Others say you are Elijah, and others say you are one of the prophets.” Then Jesus asked, “But who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:13 means that even if believers falter or become unfaithful in their own faith, God's character remains steadfast and true, as He cannot deny Himself or His promises, offering a profound assurance of His constant nature and commitment to His people despite human weakness. It's a powerful reminder that God's faithfulness underpins our hope, even when our performance fails, contrasting with the previous verse's warning that denying Christ leads to being denied.
Christ asked His disciples something personal: "Who do you say that I am?" It's an invitation to do more than answer a question: He's asking us to share our relationship with Him. So who do you say that Christ is?
In asking this question in this way, Jesus invited his disciples (us) to personally grapple and engage with the answer. To be clear, he does not ask us to define him, as though by our view of him we can somehow define who he is. Jesus was (and is) a real person, who said and did (and says and does) real things.

And then for us to pray that God would save us from idols in our country. We must decide if we will serve God or ourselves. Let's do that. God, we start this prayer by saying you alone are God.
He does not say that anyone will be erased from the book of life. Rather, he says the overcomers will not be erased. His words are a promise of security to overcomers, not a threat of insecurity to those who lapse. So again, Jesus nowhere says he will erase names previously inscribed in the book of life.

I am God's workmanship, created in Christ to do good works that He has prepared for me to do (Ephesians 2:10). I am a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). In Christ, I am dead to sin—my relationship to it is broken—and alive to God—living in unbroken fellowship with Him (Romans 6:11).

Matthew 21:22 means that genuine, unwavering faith is essential for answered prayer, but it's understood within the larger context of aligning your requests with God's will, not as a blank check for selfish desires; it's about trusting God's power and goodness, even when outcomes differ from expectations, often linked to the previous verse about the withered fig tree as a lesson in divine judgment and the power of belief.
I AM WHO I AM is the name by which God wished to be known and worshiped in Israel — the name that expressed his character as the dependable and faithful God who desires the full trust of his people.

Based on Luke 8:1–3, Martha is arguably one of the women of means who supported Jesus and the Twelve, his co-traveling, male disciples. She, her brother, and sister illustrate the concept of hospitality demonstrated by the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37).
John 16:33 means that while followers of Jesus will face hardship, suffering, and tribulation in the world, they can find inner peace and courage because Jesus has already conquered sin, death, and evil ("overcome the world"), and His Spirit lives within them, offering victory and hope amidst their struggles. It's a promise of spiritual triumph over worldly troubles, not an absence of them.
To properly understand the Book of Life, you must realize that there are really two Books of Life. One is called “the book of life”; the other, “the Lamb's book of life”. These are the books in which are entered the names of those who have received eternal life.
You look outward, to he who is the Book of Life. God the Father has written your name not in words but in wounds. The nail-pierced hands, the thorn-encircled brow, the spear-hewn side—in those bleeding wounds is the ink by which your name is inscribed.

The holy things and the pearls represent the things of God, perhaps the gospel itself. The dogs and pigs represent hostile, unworthy people. And so the statement translates into something like this: Do not preach the things of God to hostile, unworthy people.
Proposition: Joshua stayed young and vibrant spiritually until he died at 110. In his final words he warns those in the Promised Land not to backslide and turn away from God, His warning also applies to Spirit filled, Baptized believers in our day.
