Marvolo Gaunt was Voldemort's grandfather, who possessed the ring as a family heirloom. When Voldemort returned to his hometown to murder his father and paternal grandparents, he took the ring and turned it into a Horcrux. Dumbledore eventually retrieved the ring and destroyed it with the sword of Godric Gryffindor.
Tom did not enchant the ring right away, as he was seen wearing it while asking Horace Slughorn about Horcruxes, as seen through Slughorn's memories in a pensieve. In 1996, Albus Dumbledore retrieved the ring, eventually destroying it with Godric Gryffindor's Sword.
However, all of this was no match for Albus Dumbledore who was able to retrieve the Horcrux and destroy it with the Sword of Gryffindor. For his troubles, he discovered the ring to be cursed, which blackened his hand and left him with a death sentence placed upon him.
Gaunt's ring
The ring was hidden in the remains of the Gaunt family shack, and the defensive spells placed around it had to be overcome by a very powerful wizard. After retrieving the ring Albus Dumbledore himself fell victim to a curse that, even when contained, would likely have killed him within the year.

July 1996: Albus Dumbledore destroys Marvolo Gaunt's ring with Godric Gryffindor's sword in his headmaster's office at Hogwarts. Dec. 28, 1997: Ron Weasley destroys Salazar Slytherin's locket deep in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, by stabbing it with Godric Gryffindor's sword.
Voldemort never even realised the Peverall ring he acquired from his dear, uncle Morfin was a Deathly Hallow. Morfin, Merope and Marvolo never realised it was the ressurection stone that was cradled in the rings setting. And the Gaunts handled the ring contstantly for generations before it came to them.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
When Harry touches the ring it reacts because dark magic always leaves a tray, could this be David Yates way of showing that there was dark magic within Harry and he's a Horcrux him self?
The Emerald Potion, also known as the Drink of Despair, is a mysterious potion which induces fear, delirium, and extreme thirst. According to Dumbledore, the potion cannot be penetrated by hand, vanished, parted, scooped up, siphoned away, transfigured, charmed, or otherwise made to change its nature in any way.
So when Ron said three, it wasn't a mistake. He meant there were three more horcruxes to destroy before being able to destroy the fourth and final piece which was in fact Voldemort himself.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
A Horcrux is considered destroyed when it's damaged beyond repair. In the case of living Horcruxes, “damaged beyond repair” would mean dead. So, yes, Avada Kedavra can destroy a Horcrux, as long as that Horcrux is a living being.
James Potter inherited the Cloak of Invisibility from his father Fleamont Potter. Fleamont was a descendant of Hardwin Potter who married Iolanthe Peverell, the only daughter of one of the descendants of Ignotus Peverell, the original owner of the Cloak of Invisibility.
His exceptional magical abilities, immense knowledge of various branches of magic, and strategic thinking make him a formidable wizard. Dumbledore served as the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was a highly skilled duelist, and possessed incredible wisdom and intuition.
Quirrell tried to put up feeble resistance on occasion, but Voldemort was far too strong for him. Quirrell is, in effect, turned into a temporary Horcrux by Voldemort. He is greatly depleted by the physical strain of fighting the far stronger, evil soul inside him.
Harry owns the three Hallows when he dies
She manages to give Harry all three Hallows at the time of his death as a way to symbolise his journey. It makes explicit the moral of the book.
Frodo asks Gandalf to take the Ring, but the wizard refuses vehemently. With the Ring, Gandalf says, he would become too powerful, and he would inevitably be corrupted like Sauron himself. Even if Gandalf took the Ring simply for safekeeping, the temptation to use it would be too great.
Though someone could start out with good intentions, the Ring would eventually corrupt them. And that is why Gandalf can't touch it. He is afraid that if he did, it would corrupt him and make him just as bad as Sauron since Sauron put so much of himself and his evil into the One Ring.
Draco Malfoy's mother Narcissa was cold, cunning and devoted to the Dark Lord. But she was also a mother, which meant she was willing to risk everything to make sure her son was safe. When Harry survived Voldemort's Killing Curse for the second time, Narcissa pretended he was dead so she could get to Draco.
Though Harry encountered many opportunities that deemed Avada Kedavra necessary, it remains as one of the Unforgivable Curses Harry Potter never cast. For one, he viewed the spell as an immoral practice commonly used by users of the Dark Arts.
Lily's Protection In Voldemort's Blood Saved Harry
When Lord Voldemort returned Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he used Harry's blood - which is partially how Harry survived Avada Kedavra in the forest.
After spending many months looking into Voldemort's past, Albus Dumbledore was able to track down the location of the ring and retrieve it. Though he had long since abandoned his personal quest to find the Deathly Hallows, he immediately realised that this ring contained the Resurrection Stone.
"To Harry James Potter, I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match at Hogwarts, as a reminder of the rewards of perseverance and skill," his will reads. For a while, Harry is unable to open the snitch.
Voldemort wanted to humiliate Dumbledore, not kill him directly. Plus the story wouldn't allow it, the book would have been over so quickly. Voldemort was a dark lord that could have also been killed MANY times with the killing curse, but what story would there be if that happened?
