The Marvel Comics character Carnage was created by writer David Michelinie and artists Mark Bagley and Erik Larsen.
When a symbiote offspring of Eddie Brock, AKA Venom, merges with serial killer Cletus Kasady, the result is the nightmarish murdering menace known as Carnage! Reborn from an alien creature, he's a more psychotic and dangerous being that spawns a family of symbiotes.
Conception and creation
The Carnage symbiote was derived by writer David Michelinie while Mark Bagley designed the character. The symbiote was perceived to be a darker version of Venom, and was created due to the writers not wanting a replacement for Eddie Brock as Venom.
Carnage was founded by fitness entrepreneur Joel Tillekeratne, and the clothing line began two years ago as an online store and has grown leaps and bounds since.
The Venom symbiote was the first symbiote seen in the Marvel Universe and nearly all popular symbiotes are derived from it. For example, Carnage is Venom's offspring.
Sometime later, Green Goblin abducted Peter Parker and injected him with the Venom symbiote. Green Goblin did this because he thought of his son, Harry Osborn, as a disappointment and thought that because Peter was intelligent he could be the son he never had.
While captive, the Venom symbiote was forced to give birth to five offspring - Riot, Lasher, Phage, Agony, and Scream - who were bonded to PMCs hired by the Life Foundation.
In terms of publication history, Venom is the original symbiote. The character debuted in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #252 as a new costume that Peter Parker received during SECRET WARS (1984). However, Parker eventually learned his suit was an alien that had bonded with him.
Carnage is a sentient being of pure evil, seen by how moments after the Symbiote was born, he had wreaked havoc in prison during his escape. Carnage also has a deep hatred for his father, Venom, wanting to kill him so that he could be the only Symbiote on the planet and therefore unstoppable.
You're referring to the Spider-Man animated TV series that aired from 1981 to 1982, a 26-episode show featuring Peter Parker fighting villains like Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, and the Vulture, known for its unique animation style and focus on classic Spidey villains, and running alongside the contemporaneous Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
Marvel's Venom War promises to fundamentally change the mythos of the symbiotes, and Carnage's new fire immunity is the first significant development the crossover has thrown at readers.
He assists Doctor Octopus in a plot to launch a symbiote invasion using clones made from his symbiote until he is defeated by Spider-Man and the symbiote leaves Kasady to bond with Doctor Octopus. Kasady and Carnage later die when Doctor Octopus's base explodes.
The original idea of a new costume for Spider-Man that would later become the character Venom was conceived by a Marvel Comics reader from Norridge, Illinois named Randy Schueller.
Symbiotes are running wild across the Marvel Universe again—and Carnage, the most murderous symbiote of them all, has become an outright god just in time for VENOM WAR (2024). The road to true power pushed Carnage beyond the borders of life and death.
Riot is one of the five symbiotes forcibly spawned from Venom by the Life Foundation and is arguably the weakest of the group. Unlike its siblings, Riot does not possess any unique abilities or powers that separate it from the average symbiote.
Carnage is stronger than Venom (with the infamous tag line of being stronger than Spider-Man & Venom put together), and Carnage's off spring Toxin is stronger than him (with the similar tag line of being stronger than Venom and Carnage put together).
The Venom symbiote, while often bonded to Brock, fights many opponents, including his eventual ally Spider-Man, the Avengers, and its relatives, the Life Foundation symbiotes. While bonded to Brock, the Venom symbiote faces off with its violent spawn, Carnage, and the God of Symbiotes, Knull.
Sonic manipulator Shriek is commonly known as Spider-Man's foe, and as the sometimes-partner of Carnage. Born Frances Louise Barrison, it's believed that an unstable upbringing causes her frequent bouts of insanity. When paired with Cletus Kasady, her thirst for chaos is insatiable.
The Toxin Symbiote (of Earth-616) is an alien symbiote born from Carnage as the 1000th symbiote in its lineage.

Darkseid IS. We know he's younger than the multiverse, but that's it. The Fourth World (Apokalips and New Genesis) is 4.8 billion years old, so at the oldest he's 4.8 billion years old.
Tom Holland's Spider-Man is unlikely to appear in Venom 3, despite speculation and the introduction of the multiverse in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The filming of Venom 3 was affected by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, but no public hints have been given about Holland's Spider-Man appearing in the film.
