GPA means grade point average, and it's a way to translate your letter grade. So an A is 4.0, a B would be 3.0, a, C would be 2.0. So if you got all A's in your classes, you would get a 4.0 GPA, but maybe a mix would be a 3.8 or 3.4.

To calculate your GPA, multiply the grade value received by the unit value for each topic (usually 4.5). Add the values obtained for each topic together, and divide by the total unit value. Non-Graded Pass (NGP) and Withdraw, Not Fail (WN) topics are not included in the calculations.

Whether an average GPA is good or not depends on your personal and academic objectives and on the university and study programme you choose. Usually, a GPA of 3.0 - 3.5 is considered good enough at many high schools, colleges, and universities. Top academic institutions usually require GPAs higher than 3.5.
Australia maintains a grading system on 7.0 band. The grade point of 4.3 commonly is considered a pass and the range is 4.0 – 4.99 and the grade is C. The grading scale is HD – high distinction, D – distinction, C – credit, P – pass, F – fail. If you secure a 4.5 GPA then your percentage is 50%.
