There isn't one single "family" Surah, but several beautiful verses and chapters (Surahs) offer guidance, blessings, and prayers for family, especially Surah Al-Furqan (25:74) for righteous spouses/offspring, Surah An-Nisa (4) (The Women) focuses on family law, and Surah Al-Imran (3) features the family of Imran. Key themes include unity, honoring parents, seeking righteous progeny, and seeking protection for family, found across the Quran.
Surah An-Nisa (4) ayah 36:
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the neighbours near and far, to travellers in need, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed Allah does not like those who are arrogant and boastful.
Surah Al-Ikhlaas: Incomparable Love. In today's Jumuah Special we find out how to love— and live by— an amazing surah of true love and endless productivity— Surah al-Ikhlaas.
1. Ya Allah, please forgive my sins that I may have committed and please forgive the sins of my parents, children, brothers and sisters in Islam and please also forgive the sins of every single member of HOTD. Ameen.
A Beautiful Dua for Our Parents 🙏 "My Lord, have mercy upon them (parents) as they brought me up [when I was] small." (Surah Al-Isra, 17:24) Our parents have nurtured us with love and care, guiding us through life's challenges.
Translation: "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous." This dua is from the Quran (Surah Al-Furqan, 25:74) and expresses the desire for righteous and comforting companionship in the form of spouses and children.
(47:4) When you meet the unbelievers (in battle), smite their necks until you have crushed them, then bind your captives firmly; thereafter (you are entitled to) set them free, either by an act of grace, or against ransom, until the war ends. That is for you to do.
Reciting “Astaghfirullah” (seeking forgiveness from Allah) multiple times, such as 1000 times, is considered a form of dhikr and is believed to carry spiritual benefits.
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving my family with everlasting love. Help us to know you better and love you more today. Teach us how to build solid relationships with other believers. Show us how to walk with you daily, to listen to your voice, and follow where you lead.
To get your dua (supplication) accepted, focus on sincerity, perfect your etiquette (praise Allah, send blessings on the Prophet), have firm yaqeen (certainty) in His response, perform good deeds (like charity), repent for sins, and make dua at key times (like after prayers or during hardship) with humility and focus, understanding Allah responds in the best way, even if not instantly as you expect.
Surat Al-A'lā is among the most recited suras in the Jummah and Witr prayers. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the believed revelation (asbāb al-nuzūl), it is one of the earlier "Meccan surahs", which means that it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, rather than later in Medina.
Surah ar-Rum (The Romans)
The Holy Prophet (S) said that the reward for reciting this Surah is equal to ten times the number of angels between the heavens and the earth who praise Allah (S.w.T.) constantly. It is not advisable to keep this Surah as a talisman (written) in the house.
Surah Ad-Duha (الضحى)
Here we delve into Islamic quotes about family found in the Quran, shedding light on the harmonious coexistence envisioned within a family.
The "777 Rule in Islam" primarily refers to a parenting philosophy based on dividing a child's upbringing into three seven-year stages: 0-7 years (play, love, bonding); 7-14 years (teaching, discipline, character building); and 14-21 years (mentorship, guidance, treating them as friends/companions). This framework, rooted in prophetic guidance, emphasizes intentional connection and age-appropriate engagement to raise balanced, resilient Muslim children, contrasting with a simpler "7-minute rule" for daily connection.
The Prophet (saw) gave an answer that filled hearts with peace and hope: yes, families will recognise each other in Jannah. Believers will be reunited with their loved ones, living together in eternal joy.
Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the many ways You have blessed us in our lives. We humbly ask You to pour out Your grace and assistance on all families struggling with difficulties. It is not always easy to place our trust in You when we are facing trials in our lives.
Throughout his Word, we see many examples of powerful, honest prayers that we can use as models—or even repeat word for word. The most famous example—for good reason—is the Lord's Prayer (Matt 6:5–15 , Luke 11:1–4 ), in which Jesus teaches his disciples to pray.
Grant us Your grace to live each day patiently and joyfully, living and sharing Your love with one another. We pray all these in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen. Father in heaven, thank You for family.
Seeking forgiveness is usually done by saying “Astaghfirullah” or the longer version “Astaghfirullāha rabbī wa-atūbu ilayhi)”. As a beloved Sunnah, the Prophet (PBUH) would say 'Astaghfirullah' more than 100 times daily, and this simple but powerful du'a is one of the best du'as for forgiveness.
Hadith. It has been narrated from Muhammad al-Baqir that he said: "Allah has not been worshiped by anything better than tasbih Hazrat Zahra—from the aspect of praise and dhikr; Allah would grant it to Fatimah if there was/is a better practice rather than this tasbih."
“Sins of that who recites 1,000 ikhlas with basmala are forgiven and his dua (pray) is accepted.” In another, “Whoever recites surah Ikhlas 1,000 times between the afternoon and evening on the day of Arafah, Allah bestows him whatever he wishes.” Another hadith about surah Ikhlas is “Reciting surah ikhlas is a means of ...
The word "day" (in its singular Arabic form, yawm) is often cited as appearing 365 times in the Quran, corresponding to the days in a solar year, though this count can vary depending on whether possessive forms (like "their day") are included, with some sources finding 365 for the singular form and a higher total for all forms. This numerical observation is presented by some as a Quranic miracle related to astronomy, symbolizing the Earth's solar orbit.
Maryam (Mary)
Mary, the mother of Jesus and the sister of Aaron, is amongst the most important women in the Quran. Moreover, she is the only woman named in the Quran. She is described as one of the greatest women of all time in the Quran as well.
Muhammad (Arabic: محمد, muḥammad; "Chapter of Muhammad") is the 47th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 38 verses (ayat).
