Khirbet Hanot is an archaeological site on the side of the main road from Beit Guvrin to Jerusalem. In the Byzantine period it was believed to mark the site where Goliath was buried.
Biblical scholars have come up with a curious theory - Cavalry, the hill just outside of Jerusalem, is the location of David's famous battle with Goliath that ended with David burying the giant man's severed head, according to the Daily Star.
After the great battle, David took Goliath's head and buried it on a hill outside of the future Jerusalem–a hill that came to be known as “Golgatha,” the place of the skull. David recognized that his victory over Goliath was a preview the even greater victory that Jesus, the Son of David, would have on that hill!

He may have stood about 5-ft. -5-in. (166 cm) tall, the average man's height at the time.

The giant's arms were placed in the sanctuary, and it was his famous sword that David took with him in his flight from Saul (I Sam. 21: 1–9).
So armed with a shepherds staff, his sling in his hand, and five smooth stones in his shepherd's bag David went to meet Goliath. We know the result of that meeting. I have often wondered why David picked up five stones. What is significant about the number of five?
