Devils Hole is a tectonic cave developed in the discharge zone of a regional aquifer in south-central Nevada. The walls of this predominantly subaqueous (underwater) cavern are coated with dense vein calcite that precipitated from groundwater moving through the cavern.
On its surface, a gap in the rock the size of a living room drops down 30 feet to a limestone shelf and hot water pool. Below, a series of tunnels lead to numerous caverns and the “infinity cave,” a giant underwater lake that has never been fully mapped. Several adventurers have tried to find its deepest contours.
Devil's Hole was named for its treacherous terrain, but it was a terrain the Senecas knew well and cared deeply for. When a British convoy of wagons passed through Devil's Hole on September 14, 1763 it was met by hundreds of Senecas in ambush.
Devils Hole itself is a water-filled cavern cut into the side of a hill. The cavern is over 500 feet (152 m) deep and the bottom has never been mapped.

Devils Hole is a perfect summer swim spot in Deep Creek. Requiring a further hike than the nearby Aztec Falls, this swimming hole is less crowded and even more rewarding. It is roughly 3 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail, hiking northward from Splinter's Cabin Trailhead.
The refuge and Devils Hole are accessed via Spring Meadows Road. Refuge roads are dirt and gravel, and higher clearance or 4-wheel drive vehicles may be required depending on conditions.

You can find the entrance to Devil's Hole off the stairway on the east side of Devil's Hole Park. What's in a name? The "Battle of Devil's Hole" took place here - a massacre of British soldiers by Seneca Indians in 1763. Nicknamed "Cave of the Evil Spirit," natives foretold disaster to anyone who entered.

Myth 4: There's No Water
In fact, a 100-mile-long, 600-foot-deep body of water named Lake Manly inundated the valley during the Ice Age. More recently a series of shallower lakes have also occasionally filled the valley.
Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 28 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

The cavern itself has a diameter of over 320 feet and reaches 350 feet deep. To protect this sensitive natural resource, we do not allow visitors to enter the cavern.

As a result of it 15 people were sucked down this dark shaft, which is more than 100 m (300 ft) deep and all of them perished. Guatemala City sinkhole is approximately 18 m (60 ft) wide which is just large enough to completely swallow a 3 story building.
Mojave rattlesnake
Chiefly inhabits upland desert and mountain slopes but ranges from sea level to 8,000 feet. Considered rare in Death Valley and restricted to the southern half of the park.

The entire round trip walk is about 0.66 miles. There are no amenities of any kind at Devils Hole. Devils Hole, like Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
Located on the northern side of the park is a cave known as “The Cave of the Evil Spirit.” The cave is a mere four-feet tall and only thirty feet deep but it is a local hangout especially for Niagara University students.
