God's voice is described in diverse ways across faiths and experiences, from booming thunder and rushing waters to a gentle whisper or even familiar human voices, often appearing subtly in dreams, thoughts, or feelings rather than a single audible sound, with many believing it's a personal, intimate connection developed through faith and prayer.
We might expect God to speak with thunder and lightning and pyrotechnics, and yet Scripture indicates that God often speaks with a “still, small voice.”
So how can Scripture help us know if God is speaking to us? Well, if a conviction of yours lines up with God's Word, or if you're facing a choice and one of your options lines up with Scripture, that's an excellent indicator that God might be encouraging you to pursue a particular path.
