Assuming reasonably saturated, bright colors, purple or green is likely to be the least visible. Purple is a relatively “dark” color in most of its forms. Even a neon purple is “darker” than a neon yellow, say. Green will be hardest to spot in most natural settings, with all the grass and trees and such all around.
So, What Are the Hardest Colors To See? The short answer is Red. The red color is the hardest to see in the darkness. The cones recognize the color and send a message to our brain.
The effect is strongest with red and blue, but it can also happen with other colors, for example, red and green. These color combinations can be hard and tiring to look at or read. We found that green is the most popular lens colour, with brown coming in a close second, despite it being one of the most common eye colours. Although blue and hazel are seen as the most attractive eye colours for men and women they are surprisingly the least popular.
The consensus is that the "non-colours", white and black, and the colours yellow, green, and orange are generally most acceptable. These colours (yellow, green, orange) are in the middle of the visible spectrum (the range of colours that our eyes can detect) and are the easiest for the eye to see.
When it comes to color combinations, your eyes prefer black text on a white or slightly yellow background. Other dark-on-light combinations work fine for most people. Avoid low contrast text/background color schemes. If you wear contacts, your eyes have to work harder when staring at a screen.
Pantone 448 C is a colour in the Pantone colour system. Described as a drab dark brown and informally dubbed the "ugliest colour in the world", it was selected in 2012 as the colour for plain tobacco and cigarette packaging in Australia, after market researchers determined that it was the least attractive colour.
At long last, we can see why the human eye can't focus on blue light. The focal point is placed between the peaks of the red and green receptors and blue is left blurry.

The picture below shows that for all of the types of color blindness there is a pair of colors that can be distinguished – red and blue – these are color blind safe colors. As for the green, it is the number one among the colors to avoid for the color blind.

Magenta doesn't exist because it has no wavelength; there's no place for it on the spectrum. The only reason we see it is because our brain doesn't like having green (magenta's complement) between purple and red, so it substitutes a new thing.
