If you are diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, this means that the tumour is less than 2 centimetres in size. No cancer cells have been found in the lymph nodes or other parts of the body at this stage.
Stage 1A means that the cancer is 2 centimetres (cm) or smaller and has not spread outside the breast.
In stage 2 breast cancer, the tumor measures between 2 cm and 5 cm, or the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes under the arm on the same side as the breast cancer.
Background. Node-negative breast cancers from 2 cm to 5 cm in size are classified as stage ii, and smaller cancers, as stage i.
Stage groups for kidney cancer
Stage I: The tumor is 7 cm or smaller and is only located in the kidney. It has not spread to the lymph nodes or distant organs (T1, N0, M0). Stage II: The tumor is larger than 7 cm and is only located in the kidney.
Stage IB tumors are more than 3 cm but 4 cm or less in size.

The stage of a cancer describes the size of a tumour and how far it has spread from where it originated. The grade describes the appearance of the cancerous cells. If you're diagnosed with cancer, you may have more tests to help determine how far it has progressed.
Here's the take-home point: a 1 millimeter cluster of cancerous cells typically contains somewhere in the ball park of a million cells, and on average, takes about six years to get to this size. Generally, a tumor can't be detected until it reaches the 1 millimeter mark.
3A: The tumor is smaller than 5 centimeters (cm) but has spread to 4-9 nodes. The tumor is larger than 5cm and has spread to 1 to 9 nodes.
To learn the stage of your disease, your doctor may order x-rays, lab tests, and other tests or procedures. A cancer is always referred to by the stage it was given at diagnosis, even if it gets worse or spreads. New information about how a cancer has changed over time is added to the original stage.
Stage 4 cancer usually can't be cured. In addition, because it's usually spread throughout the body by the time it's diagnosed, it is unlikely the cancer can be completely removed. The goal of treatment is to prolong survival and improve your quality of life.
Non-cancerous brain tumours are grades 1 or 2 because they tend to be slow growing and unlikely to spread. They are not cancerous and can often be successfully treated, but they're still serious and can be life threatening.
This stage of cancer is often curable. Surgery can usually remove the entire tumor. Stage I. This stage is usually a cancer that has not grown deeply into nearby tissues.

But as a tumour grows, it needs more blood to bring oxygen and other nutrients to the cancer cells. So cancer cells send signals for a tumour to make new blood vessels. This is called angiogenesis and it is one of the reasons that tumours grow and get bigger.
Our study indicated that patients with a tumor size of 3–7 cm had a tendency to have brain metastasis, liver metastasis and lung metastasis. Meanwhile, the results also demonstrated that patients with a tumor size ≥7 cm were more prone to have bone metastasis, brain metastasis, lung metastasis.
Slow-growing tumors.
They usually remain small, under about an inch wide. They don't grow quickly or spread to other areas of the body.
The smallest lesion that can be felt by hand is typically 1.5 to 2 centimeters (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch) in diameter.
It was observed that tumors < 1 cm in size were benign in 46.3 percent of cases and tumors between 1 and 4 cm were benign approximately 20 percent of the time; conversely, tumors ≥ 7 cm were rarely benign, as only 6.3 percent of cases demonstrated nonmalignant histology.
3 cm is about the size of a grape. 4 cm is about the size of a walnut. 5 cm is about the size of a lime. 6 cm is about the size of an egg.
