The Quran is perhaps the only book, religious or secular, that has been memorized completely by millions of people.

The Qur'ān is the most memorised book in the world, and it's no surprise. Allah says: “Indeed, it is We have descended the Qur'ān and indeed, We will be its protector” (chapter 15, Surah Al-Hijr verse 9).

We should memorize Scripture so we can walk unbelievers through the salvation message and help them understand their sin and need for a Savior. If you want to become a Hafiz within six months, you will have to memorize five parts of the Qur'an or five parts each month. Although this can be achieved, it is much better to memorize the Qur'an at a slower pace. One page per day is a very good rate which should generally get you a Hafiz in two to three years.
