The most common complications of alcohol abuse involve the liver (cirrhosis, fatty liver), brain (memory loss, dementia, neuropathies), heart (high blood pressure, cardiomyopathy), and digestive system (gastritis, pancreatitis), alongside significant mental health issues (depression, anxiety), increased risk of cancers, and severe social/relationship problems, with liver disease often cited as a hallmark severe outcome.
