In Victoria, there's no single age for medical consent; it's based on a "mature minor" principle where young people understand treatment, but generally, those 16+ can consent to most treatments themselves, while parents consent for those under 18, though doctors assess capacity for minors (around 14+) to consent to simpler care like contraception or antibiotics, and for very serious issues, parent input is usually needed.
