For comprehensive protection, Muslims recite specific duas like "Bismillah alladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fi al-ardi wa la fi as-samai wa huwa as-sami'u al-'alim" (In the Name of Allah, with His Name nothing can cause harm...) for general safety, and the Surahs Al-Falaq & Al-Nas (Mu'awwidhatayn) for seeking refuge from creation's evils, alongside prayers for specific fears like anxiety or debt, recognizing that consistent dua is a believer's spiritual shield against seen and unseen harm.
To get your dua (supplication) accepted, focus on sincerity, perfect your etiquette (praise Allah, send blessings on the Prophet), have firm yaqeen (certainty) in His response, perform good deeds (like charity), repent for sins, and make dua at key times (like after prayers or during hardship) with humility and focus, understanding Allah responds in the best way, even if not instantly as you expect.
It recommends reciting "Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum" 101 times daily after every prayer as a powerful dua to resolve all problems. Additionally, it suggests reciting Ayat al-Kursi and Surah Ya-Sin daily for one week to find solutions.
Protection from calamities
Translation: O Allah protect me from my front, behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being taken unaware from beneath me.
Seeking forgiveness is usually done by saying “Astaghfirullah” or the longer version “Astaghfirullāha rabbī wa-atūbu ilayhi)”. As a beloved Sunnah, the Prophet (PBUH) would say 'Astaghfirullah' more than 100 times daily, and this simple but powerful du'a is one of the best du'as for forgiveness.
We confess and say unto You, O Lord, that You alone are our refuge, our fortress, and our place of protection from dangers and distress. You are also our stronghold and our defense against our enemies. You are the only God whom we serve and only in You will we confidently place our trust.
Reciting “Astaghfirullah” (seeking forgiveness from Allah) multiple times, such as 1000 times, is considered a form of dhikr and is believed to carry spiritual benefits.
“O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for a blink of an eye. Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship except You.”
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also taught us about dua's strength. He said: “Nothing can change the Divine decree except dua.” This Hadith clearly tells us that dua has the power to alter what's written in our destiny.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "There are two which will not be rejected: du'aa at the time of the call (to prayer) and when it is raining.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood) Make as many du'aas as possible for yourself, your family, friends, and the Ummah the next time it rains.
Forbidden prayer times
As mentioned, Muslims are banned from praying during 3 main times: sunrise, sunset, and Zawwal. The prostration of recitation (sajda al tilawa) is permissible to be offered during these times though it is disliked (tanzihan).
All you need to do is to call on Allah (swt) with sincerity. You can whisper to Him (swt) or talk out loud; you can cry before Him (swt) or even laugh; you can remember Him (swt) standing, sitting or lying on your side, in solitude or in a crowd. And He (swt) will most definitely be there for you – guaranteed!
Transliteration: Allahumma innee a'uzubika min alhammi wal huzni wal ajzi wal kasli wal bukhli wal jubni wa dala'id dayni wa galabatir rijaal. Translation: O Allah, I take refuge in you from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being overpowered by men.
'O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them, and take refuge in Thee from their evils. ' This dua beautifully shows how we put our trust in Allah as our protector against harm from enemies. By seeking His shield, we find safety and peace, knowing He is always there to guard us from all evil.
Content of your dua:
In Islam, the raised index finger (al-musabbiḥa) symbolizes the core concept of Tawhid, the indivisible oneness of God (Allah) and the declaration of faith (Shahada), affirming there is no god but God. Muslims use this gesture during prayer (Salah) and sometimes when saying the declaration of faith, pointing to the singular nature of God, signifying faith, unity, and praise.
Dua To Remove All Your Sins
(Recite one hundred times daily) Allah says: And Allah wouldn't punish them while they were praying for forgiveness. (Quran 8:33) Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “I seek forgiveness one hundred times daily.” [Muslim] So Recite“AstaghfirAllah” often!
The best dhikr, according to the Prophetﷺ, is La ilaha illallah. This one of the greatest verses is repeated by Muslims daily to keep in touch with Allah.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If one says one-hundred times in one day: “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)”, one will get the reward of manumitting ten slaves, and one ...
I pray that all may come to know you and be reconciled back to You. Lord, you know my faults and my flaws – forgive me for being unkind with my words and my thoughts; forgive me for being self-serving; forgive me for holding on to old wounds instead of giving them to you. Forgive me, Lord.
