Central to Catholic eschatology is belief in the resurrection of the body, which, for Roman Catholics, as for all Christians, is confirmed by the bodily Resurrection of Jesus. Indeed, the importance of the Ascension of Christ in his flesh was noted in the Gospels and the letters of St. Paul the Apostle.
But the elements of Catholicism that are most essential to Catholics – having a personal relationship with Jesus, belief in the Resurrection and working to help the poor and needy – also are those most commonly cited by cultural Catholics.
The core beliefs of the Catholic faith are found in the Nicene Creed. Here's what it says: I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

Christ created the Catholic Church to give God “praise, reverence, and service; to give him glory.” The goal is glory, the family of God enjoying and sharing the glory of God.
Basic Requirements for Catholics
As a Catholic, you are required to live a Christian life, pray daily, participate in the sacraments, obey the moral law, and accept the teachings of Christ and his Church.
to confess one's sins, receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation at least once each year; to receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter season; to abstain from eating meat and to observe the days of fasting established by the Church.
Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell are what the Church refers to as the Last Things. Traditionally, they were preached about during Advent (as we begin to get all those readings about the end times), although I suspect most of us have never heard a homily about the Last Things.

There are two formulations of the Golden Rule: positive and negative. The positive form is “One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.” The negative form is “One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated.”
Golden Rule, precept in the Gospel of Matthew (7:12): “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. . . .” This rule of conduct is a summary of the Christian's duty to his neighbour and states a fundamental ethical principle.
I'll cut to the chase: There is nothing immoral about tattoos. Mother Church has never condemned them, and neither can I. It is one of those areas where a Catholic must follow his or her conscience.

Every day in the octave is a feast. But for most of the Church year, every Friday is a day of penance, and the ordinary way Catholics observe the penance is by abstaining from meat.
