Carlisle's gift is an elevated sense of compassion that allows him to resist human blood. He is able to bite (in order to turn them) people without succumbing to the frenzy and killing them. Esme's gift is to love the people around her passionately, which allows her to easily show affection.

They were both never complete until they met each other, and they are the only members of the Cullen family who were not turned into vampires by either Carlisle or Edward.

Esme Cullen was born in 1895, then Carlisle changed her into a vampire in 1921, when she was 26 years old. She has no special gifts.

Emmett's gift is extreme strength that surpasses a regular vampire. He is the strongest member of the Cullens, if not the entire world. But his strength can be easily conquered by a newborn vampire, such as Bella when she challenged him to arm wrestling.
Recognizing her as the young woman he once treated and distraught by her tragedy, he turned her into a vampire to save her life. To his surprise, she wasn't upset with the news when he told her what he had done. In fact, she was happy to see Carlisle again - the man she'd always been fond of.

Carlisle Cullen
Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) is the oldest vampire in the Cullen family (or the Olympic Coven, as the Twilight wiki calls them) and the sire of several of the others. He was born in London in the 1640s, the son of an Anglican pastor and a mother who died in childbirth.
As Carlisle tends to the cut on Bella's arm after Jasper's outburst, he drops the used gauze into a bowl. When he is finished treating her, he sets the bloody gauze on fire, likely to remove the scent of blood for the other vampires in the house.
Jasper has the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of people around him – a power that is known as 'pathokinesis'. Although described by Edward as a “subtle ability”, it seems pretty strong to us: in Twilight, he managed to calm Bella down to such an extent that she fell asleep.
