And exercising in the hours following your appointment can cause sweat to “transfer bacteria from the skin into these lesions. Once that happens, you're at risk of developing pimples and folliculitis, in which the hair follicles become infected,” Equinox explains.
After your wax, your skin is more sensitive to sweat and bacteria. Give it some time to recover before working up a sweat. Generally 24 hours is enough time to ensure your skin has begun to heal. However, some people do prefer 36-40 hours rest, especially in the case of a brazillian wax.
Any unnecessary friction may lead to bumps from the irritation. You should wait at least 24 hours before having sex after a wax.
