You may be asked about your personal details as well as your family background. The interviewer can also ask you about your marital status and kids you have. After asking some general question, they would go for some technical questions, such as duties of individuals as Australian citizen etc.
After you have made the pledge, you should receive your citizenship certificate. If your certificate is not ready at the ceremony, it will be posted to you. You become a citizen when you make the pledge. Your certificate is evidence of Australian citizenship once you have made the pledge.
Technically, the USCIS has to provide you with a decision on your naturalization application within 120 days of your naturalization interview. In a green card application, the USCIS is supposed to provide you with an official notification of their decision within 30 days of your interview.
If everything goes well in the interview, the USCIS officer will likely tell you that he/she is approving the application. Expedited service through a local application acceptance facility can take up to 3 weeks or more. The fastest way to get a passport is to apply at a regional agency. You can do this yourself or get a third party to submit the application with your authorization.
If you are found eligible to receive a visa on the day of the interview you should allow approximately 10-15 working days for your application to be processed.
The Immigration Interview
