The Deep is the only remaining "lab-grown" (original) member of the Seven after the events in Washington after he declined to take part in Homelander's attempted coup d'etat against the U.S. government, and in turn, is the only member of the team to survive in general, alongside Starlight.
The Deep is still trying to make a comeback, with the help and support of his wife, Cassandra. He releases a new book and even goes on the Cameron Coleman show to talk about it. Homelander supports getting Deep back into The Seven, at the protest of Starlight, but Homelander succeeds and The Deep is back.

The character of Billy Butcher can be seen as a direct parody of The Punisher from Marvel. Both these characters operate outside the law using violent means and are highly skilled in combat.

Powers and Abilities

Madelyn Stillwell is loosely based on the character James Stillwell from the comics, who also seems to have heavily inspired the character of her superior Stan Edgar. It is heavily implied that Madelyn had molested Homelander at a young age due to him seeing her as a motherly figure.

Teddy Stillwell was the infant son of Vought International VP Madelyn Stillwell. His biological father is unknown. Although she never paraded the child about during regular business operations, she was often seen caring for him whenever she meetings with her lover and premiere superhero, Homelander.
Hughie is intentionally drawn to resemble the British actor and writer Simon Pegg. According to Robertson, he drew the character based on Pegg after seeing him in the sitcom Spaced, and thought that Pegg captured the balance of "innocence but tough determination" that Ennis wanted in the character.
Trivia. Unlike the other members of The Seven, Translucent is likely not a parody of a specific character but rather of superheroes with invisibility superpowers in general, such as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman from Marvel's Fantastic Four.
