Fives's death led him to uncover his inhibitor chip, which enabled him and his longtime friend Ahsoka to escape Order 66 after the Siege of Mandalore. After living on Seelos with fellow Clone Commanders Gregor and Wolffe, Rex joined the Phoenix Cell and reunited with his old friend Tano.
Instead, the website has learned that the actor will be playing Captain Rex in the upcoming Ahsoka series, which debuts this August on Disney Plus.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
During a mission to capture General Grievous, Obi-Wan agreed with Cody that Rex is a smart man and believes that he always thinks on his feet. Rex apparently never saw Obi-Wan again after Order 66, as he believed Bail Organa's words that Obi-Wan had perished.
He viewed military service as an honor, and his loyalty to the Republic and his Jedi Generals was absolute. But when Order 66 was executed, it was Ahsoka who helped to free Rex from the programming of his inhibitor chip.
Rex leaves Wolffe and Gregor to join the Rebel Alliance and to fight alongside the Ghost crew and Ahsoka against the Empire. In the epilogue of the series finale "Family Reunion - and Farewell", it is revealed that he was promoted to commander again and fought with Hera at the Battle of Endor.

Clone Commander CC-1119 "Appo," previously a Clone Sergeant within the legion, was promoted to Clone Commander and placed in command of the other half of the 501st forces after Commander Rex vanished.
Clones That Disobeyed Order 66 | Fandom. Some clones disobeyed the infamous order than decimated the Jedi order, and refused to execute it. SOME of these Clones include; Captain Rex: Captain Rex, as most know removed his chip that would later be the way that Palpatine would execute order 66.
Despite Cody's friendship with Obi-Wan, he didn't hesitate when he received Order 66 from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine at the end of the Clone Wars. Obeying the Republic's commander-in-chief, Cody gave the order to fire on his Jedi General, then sent troops to see if he'd been killed.
Commander Cody Felt Guilt For Obi-Wan's Death
This is one reason the Empire ultimately discontinued the clone program, frustrated because the clones weren't the mindless drones the Emperor wanted. In Cody's case, he seems to have felt an increasing sense of guilt for what he presumably believed was Obi-Wan's death.
As far as you know, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex were very close friends during the Clone Wars. But before the battle for Coruscant, they had to split up and Rex went with Ahsoka to Mandalore, and Anakin went to Coruscant. After that, Anakin and Rex never saw each other again.
Because of where Obi-Wan Kenobi falls on the Star Wars timeline (nine years Before the Battle of Yavin), it's possible that this could be Captain Rex of the 501st Legion. The bearded and beaten clone looks similar to how Rex appears in Star Wars Rebels, which takes place just four years later (5 BBY).

By calling her “sir” the clones are letting Ahsoka know that they accept her being in command, and respect her word as a leader. Even though her first command is a failure, the clones still respect the experience she gains, as they see the pain it causes her to lose the lives of their fellow clones.
She had no official military title. Technically, if anything, Rex was now above her as he was promoted to “Commander Rex.” Before, she was called sir by the clones to show honor.
After the formation of the Galactic Empire, the 212th was folded into the Imperial military forces and its troopers continued to serve in battle. It was led by a new general, Kahdah, and crushed a Wookiee revolt on Kashyyyk.
Rex. While the Clone Captain Rex didn't learn the full scope and intention of Order 66 before it was executed, he did heed Fives' warnings about the control chips after the latter's death.
