Presidente Inoar Brasil, Presidente… Assuming you haven't come across the term yet, you're probably a "Cringe." The expression, which has gone viral on the Internet in recent days, is how Generation Z defined the attitudes they consider “tacky” in Generation Y, aka Millennials.
As the kids would say, it's pretty cringe. That's a Gen-Z term that essentially means the same thing as cringey. A silly slang term, but then, each generation comes up with such words.
In the short term, Gen Z's stress is leading to ambivalence and withdrawal in their professional lives. According to 2022 data from Gallup, they are the most disengaged group at work. They also report more overall stress and work-related burnout than other cohorts.
If something is "cringe" or "cringy", this means it's embarrassing, awkward, or uncool. Perhaps you might hear your kid say, "Mom, don't post that on Facebook — that's so cringe!"
Gen Z – 60% of TikTok users are Gen Zers. Gen Zers are trendsetters. Next year, 74 million people in the U.S. will be part of “Gen Z”, which will make it the largest generation of all.
Gen Z TikTokers aren't just downloading and absorbing content. They're creating it. 83% of TikTokers have created a video themselves. Since the platform makes it so easy to create, with intuitive in-app features and a simple interface, it's no wonder Gen Z are ready to put their content out there.
Gen Z is a generation that has been characterized as having a notoriously short attention span. The average attention span of an individual in this demographic is said to be around 2.7 minutes, which is significantly shorter than the attention spans of previous generations.
Instead, Gen Z'ers are taking on a more casual and carefree approach to ending an email. That means that traditional closers of "Sincerely," "Thanks," "Warm regards" and "Best wishes" are out of the question. Instead, they are using closers like "Yours unfaithfully," "Bless up" or "Cold regards," to name just a few.
Fire. In Gen Z slang term, “fire” means something is really amazing or cool. They also use it to express excitement or point out a new trend within their culture.
Cheugy (pronounced chew-gee, for the uninitiated) is a term coined by Gen Z and defined by Urban Dictionary as a “catch-all word” to describe anything untrendy, uncool or “basic”.
Regarding the stats, it's clear that Gen Z is struggling. A 2022 survey of Gen Z young adults (ages 19 through 24) found that 42% are diagnosed with a mental health condition. Of these people, 26% were diagnosed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which worsened mental health for many people of all ages.
Gen Z also faces an unprecedented behavioral health crisis: US Gen Zers surveyed by McKinsey report the least positive outlook and the highest prevalence of mental illness of any generation, and European respondents report struggling with self-stigma.
Well, for Gen Z it's about the whole vibe. Many feel that the era represents a carefree time that was about having fun. Considering the stressful reality we've been experiencing over the last few years, it's no wonder Gen Z are feeling nostalgic for a simpler time.

Gucci – This is used when come one wants to express that something or someone is chill or awesome. Bruh – Further slang for the word Bro but is used as a gender-neutral noun. It is used in an informal way to address a friend. It can also be used to show disgust or shock.
Wild. Another way for saying "that's crazy" or when someone is being rather provocative, you say, "you wild".
The phrases "vibe" and "vibe check" are being exceedingly used by millennials and Gen Z nowadays. A paired display of emotional condition that, if it connects with the other person, passes the vibe check.
W is short for Win and L is short for Loss and probably came into use from text messaging. For example, a Gen Z'er might say: “Take the W”, “It's a W” or “Take the L”.
Regarding major issues in the national news, the same survey states that overall, more Gen Zs than adults are stressed about the: rise in overall suicide rates. separation and deportation of immigrant and migrant families. widespread reports of sexual harassment and assault.
Gen Z would say they're being salty. Salty can be used to describe jealous, irritated, or resentful behavior.
A neuropsychiatrist at Harvard Medical School calls this trend "Acquired Attention Deficit Disorder (AADD)" to describe changes to the brain that are seen where Generation Z uses technology. This results in the inability to focus and analyze complex information or issues.
One in four Gen Z respondents reported feeling more emotionally distressed (25 percent), almost double the levels reported by millennial and Gen X respondents (13 percent each), and more than triple the levels reported by baby boomer respondents (8 percent).
The study found that about half (49%) of millennials surveyed want to work fully remote, whereas only 27% of Generation Z (Gen Zers) feel the same way; they're much more likely than average “to be seeking in-person” work opportunities.
