We recommend using a point size of 8pt or above. However, some fonts may print just as well at smaller sizes.
Doubling a sheet of A4 along, its long edge, gives us the A3 size. Doubling A3 along the long edge gives us A2.
These are sheet fed into the printer, therefore there is a small print margin on each edge. If your image is to scale, you should leave a 20mm margin on each edge of your A1 or A2 image accordingly.
The body of your poster should have a minimum 24 point font. Viewers should be able to read your smallest text from a few feet away. The title of your poster should have a 50+ font size, depending on the size of your poster and the length of the title.
To get a better understanding of how poster sizes scale up in comparison to one another, A0 is the largest size at 841mm by 1189mm, then A1 is exactly half of this size, measuring 594mm by 841mm. A2 is half of A1, A3 half of A2 and so on until you reach a very small A10 size, measuring just 26mm by 37mm.
Medium Posters: A2 = 42 x 59 cm or 16.54 x 23.39 inches
This is a good-sized poster for promoting your business in the window or as a clear notice such as for safety warnings and important messages.
For A2 poster size, 150dpi is a good resolution. A2 is 16.53 x 23.39 inch. So if you use the full image (no crop) you'll be fine. Always save your work at 300dpi and as a JPEG or PDF.
When printing an image of A2 size, it's important for it to have the right resolution. By using a resolution of 420 x 594 mm at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) you will always have the best resolution for your A2 sized designs.

The A2 size print measures 42.0 x 59.4cm, 16.53 x 23.39 inches, if mounted 59.4 x 76.6cm, 23.39 x 30.16 inches. The A3 size print measures 29.7 x 42.0cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches, if mounted 40.6 x 50.8cm, 15.98 x 20 inches.

Go to the Layout menu, then Page Setup group. You will see a dropdown menu for Size. If you don't see A2 in the list, you can make a custom paper size.
A2 Printing Resolution
The resolution needed to print A2 size images with the best quality is 420 x 594 mm at 300 PPI (pixels per inch).
The ideal file format choice for print is TIFF, followed closely by PNG.
One of the most common poster sizes you'll see these days is the A2.
Click the Page Layout tab and select Multi-Page, then select Poster Printing. Click the up or down arrow to select 2x1, 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4.
