They don't care who they hurt or destroy (2 Peter 2:4-22; Jude 1:10). The doom of liars is spoken of in Revelation 21:8. The liar will forever be separated from a loving and holy God. The liar will have all eternity to regret the deception they refused to renounce as they hear their lies echo in their memory.
Lying is strongly discouraged and forbidden by most interpretations of Christianity. Arguments for this are based on various biblical passages, especially "thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour", one of the Ten Commandments.
“Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.” The Good News: The Lord will not give his love to those who lie.
Proverbs 20:19 – “He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip.” Proverbs 25:9-10 - “…don't reveal the secret of another, lest he who hears it reproach you, and the evil report about you not pass away.”

A truthful witness saves lives, but one who breathes out lies is deceitful.
A person who lies hates the individual they are lying to (Proverbs 26:28). And if you hate another human being, God views the hater as a murderer (1 John 3:15; 1 John 4:20). God hates the sin of lying because it is deceptive. False prophets and teachers are equally condemned.
Ephesians 4:25, NLT So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. Exodus 23:1, NLT You must not pass along false rumors. You must not cooperate with evil people by lying on the witness stand.

Ananias and Sapphira were a married couple who sold their land and gave the proceeds to the disciples – only they didn't give all of the money. They lied, telling Peter that it was all of the money when in fact they had saved some back for themselves. When Peter confronted them, they died!

In the 16th chapter of Romans, Paul gives warning against those who create dissensions and hindrances within the faith community. He describes such deceivers as ones who use smooth talk and flattery in order to distort truth and manipulate others.
Getting caught in a lie often destroys relationships. Lying has consequences. When someone finds out you have lied, it affects how that person deals with you forever. If your spouse lies, you may be able to work it out in therapy, but an employer is not likely to forgive.
To practice deceit, falsehood, and treachery either by word or action. It is the exact opposite of truth. The sanctity of truth is fundamental in biblical teaching since it is based on the nature and character of God ( Num 23:19 ; 1 Sam 15:29 ; Rom 3:4 ; Titus 1:2 ; Heb 6:18 ).
According to mental health experts, many pathological and compulsive liars do believe the stories they're telling. They may have repeated their lies so often that they start to feel true. Pathological liars often live in a fantasy world they've constructed, in which their “truth” becomes reality.
The Bible leaves no doubt that God hates deceit. Three times in the book of Proverbs he states it bluntly. In Proverbs 6 we read a list of “six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him,” and two of them relate to deceit: “a lying tongue” and “a false witness who breathes out lies” (17, 19).
Signs of Lying
Repeating questions before answering them. Speaking in sentence fragments. Failing to provide specific details when a story is challenged. Grooming behaviors such as playing with hair or pressing fingers to lips.
Liars don't only hide the truth; they hide their feelings, too. They lie to avoid facing the facts. Despite what people might think, good liars know how to listen. It gives them information they can use in the future.
Psalm 147:3
The Bible says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and heals the brokenhearted. So, not only will God provide comfort as you move on from a past relationship, but He'll actually help you do it. God will help you heal from the wounds caused by the relationship and move forward in life and love.
In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst. (1 Corinthians 15:33, Proverbs 13:20, Psalm 1:1, Proverbs 6:27, 1 Corinthians 5:11, 1 Corinthians 10:13 – these are just a few).
Repeatedly, God warns children to honor their parents with loving hearts of obedience (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2). Mouthy and sarcastic children who demean or belittle their parents' leadership and decision making are clearly on a path to destruction. King David's son, Absalom, is one such example in the Bible.
Proverb for the Day 21:6 — Lying Tongue, Fleeting Vapor, Deadly Snare! A fortune made by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare. This wise saying offers a very strong warning to any and all who are dishonest in their dealings with others.
While honesty is usually the best policy, it is okay to lie to protect yourself or someone else. Such lies can help ensure your safety in the moment until you are in a safer situation.
