Heaven is described across faiths as a place of ultimate peace, beauty, and divine presence, often depicted as a glorious city with streets of gold, precious stones, and a river of life, but also as natural wonders, vibrant landscapes, or simply an overwhelming experience of God's love, light, and joy, with no more pain, sorrow, or death. Descriptions vary, from the New Jerusalem in the Bible with its celestial beauty and lack of sun/moon, to Islamic Jannah as lush gardens with flowing rivers. Near-death experiences often blend these, showing welcoming figures and familiar places alongside otherworldly light and nature.
We learned heaven is a permanent home and city that God created for His people. And then the question was, well, what does heaven look like? Well, the Bible answered that by describing it as a beautiful city with streets paved in gold, gates of grand pearls and walls of beautiful jasper.
