You can send your boyfriend essential toiletries (unscented deodorant, baby wipes, good razors), comforting snacks (hard candy, protein bars if requested), photos, and encouraging letters to boost morale, but always check specific branch/battalion rules first as packages are opened in front of drill sergeants and contraband is confiscated, with letters being the most consistently welcome item. Focus on practical items and regular updates about home life to help him feel connected, using resources like Army Mom Strong or the Sandboxx app for guidance.
Letters and pictures are far more valuable than anything else you could send. Anything he might need, he has access to at the PX. Plus what they're allowed to have in training is pretty limited so I wouldn't send anything unless he asks for it - but you could always offer to send him things he needs.
Playing cards, tissue packs, lip balm, powered drink packets, tuna packets, ramen, cup noodles, jerky, nuts, trail mix, Chex mix. They get a lot of sweets sent to them, so mix it up with crunchy/salty snacks. Popcorn if he has access to a microwave.
Please, resist sending anything but letters. While you may be tempted to send additional items, your Recruit will thank you for not sending anything else.
Care packages and gifts are not allowed to be received during basic training. Trainees will know this ahead of time and this message must be relayed to their loved ones. If a care package is sent to a trainee, it will be addressed in front of the training flight by the training instructor.

All of these are prohibited from basic training — and military service in general.
A flag is typically a great starting point for anyone that has been in the armed services, air force, marines, navy, or army. Iconic bald eagles, skulls, air force wings, bullets, and guns embossed or engraved onto items are also highly sought after military gifts.

Along with making plans with your soon-to-be service member while they are still here, make plans while they are away to do things you enjoy and keep yourself busy!
Generally, it follows the “rule of three,” meaning there are three lower units within each of the next larger units. Teams consist of three Marines with a corporal as team leader. The 7-7-7 rule for couples is a guideline for maintaining strong connection by scheduling dedicated time: a date night every 7 days, a weekend getaway (or night away) every 7 weeks, and a longer, kid-free vacation every 7 months, all designed to fight drift and routine by ensuring consistent, intentional quality time, though flexibility is key.

Gifts in general

Self-care items - Military spouses often face unique challenges and stresses, so consider gifting self-care items like candles, bath bombs, fragrance sets or a spa gift certificate. This can help them relax and take some time for themselves.
