The "Sacred Twenty-Eight" are 28 British wizarding families listed in a 1930s publication, the Pure-Blood Directory, as being "truly pure-blood" with no Muggle ancestry, a concept originating from Salazar Slytherin's pure-blood ideology, though many families on the list, like the Weasleys, rejected it, while others, like the Malfoys, embraced it, and the list itself became a source of division, notes the Harry Potter Wiki, a YouTube video from 2025, and a YouTube video from 2022, and an article from Wizarding World. Key families include the Blacks, Gaunts, Lestranges, Malfoys, Weasleys, and Crouches, among others like the Abbotts, Averys, Bulstrodes, Carrows, Fawleys, Flint, Greengrass, Longbottoms, MacMillans, Notts, Ollivanders, Parkinsons, Prewetts, Rosiers, Rowles, Selwyns, Shacklebolts, Shafiqs, Slughorns, and Yaxleys, as detailed on the Harry Potter Wiki, the Harry Potter by me Wiki, and Quora.
Families that were likely pureblood were left off for reasons such as the writer not liking their politics or thinking their name sounded too muggle. Families that probably weren't actually pureblood were included on the list because the writer chose to include them. The whole thing was a sham.
The Weasley family were a well established wizarding family and were included in the Sacred Twenty-Eight - a list of pure-blood wizarding families published in the 1930s. However, the Weasley family were dismissive of the list and were advocates of equality with Muggle-born witches and wizards.
Okay, before you alll yell to me, I know there's Sacred 28 aka list of pure-bloods families on 1930 and Scamander are not included. But Sacred 28 is not a good reference for list of pure-blood families. Some of families protested why they were not included, and some of them like Weasley didn't want to get included.
The elder Nott was one of the very early Death Eaters. Cantankerus Nott is widely believed to have authored the 'Sacred Twenty-Eight'.
Godric Gryffindor is the only founder who is not mentioned to have any descendants, although for a time it was speculated that Harry Potter himself was a descendant of Gryffindor either through James Potter possibly because James hailed from Godric's hometown, or possibly through a line of Muggles descended from a ...
Hufflepuff is often considered the worst house at Hogwarts because it hasn't contributed as much to magic as other houses, except for a few exceptions like Newt Scamander. Hufflepuffs are known for their hard work but it rarely leads to major magical discoveries.
In summary, Luna's marriage to Rolf made her Newt's granddaughter-in-law: awww!
Following both ordeals, Ginny grew into a confident young woman. Her and her friends followed in the footsteps of a previous generation, completely unbeknownst to them, and became Animagi at the age of fourteen, to support their best friend, Maisie Cattermole. Ginny took the form of a grey mare.
Luna marries Rolf Scamander, who is the grandson of Newt Scamander, while Neville marries Hannah Abbott, who is a fellow Hogwarts student. The Harry Potter films didn't explore the real romantic pairings of Luna and Neville, leaving out Rolf and Hannah from the adaptation.
She was named after important people in her father and mother's life. Lily – after his mother and her paternal grandmother, Lily Evans, who died to protect Harry from Voldemort when he was just a baby. Luna – after Luna Lovegood, Ginny's good friend at Hogwarts.
However, the truth is that even if they did exist in the past, true pure-blood wizards and witches did not exist in the present day, as Squibs, Muggle-borns, and especially half-bloods were too common.
Considering that Albus (Percival Wulfric Brian) Dumbledore and Percy (Percival Ignatius) Weasley share a name. Obviously it's one of Albus's middle names and Percy is the shortened version of the name.
In 1943, Tom Riddle, the "Heir of Slytherin", opened the Chamber of Secrets to conduct a purge on Muggle-born students. This resulted in the death of Myrtle Warren, who eventually returned as a ghost. Riddle opened the Chamber again in 1993 through the use of one of his seven Horcruxes, his diary.
She was born in secret at Malfoy Manor in 1998. Voldemort and Bellatrix were killed at the Battle of Hogwarts so they did not live long enough to see their daughter grow up, leaving Delphini an orphan.
Sure, but it's rare. They're called Squibs- children born without any magic to magical parents. They get shafted pretty hard by Wizarding society. All muggleborn witches and wizards are descended from Squibs who eventually integrated into muggle society, and whose descendants never learned about magic.
The main LGBTQ+ character confirmed by J.K. Rowling is Albus Dumbledore, revealed to be gay and to have had a passionate, intense love relationship with the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in their youth, though this isn't explicitly detailed in the books but rather in later interviews and supplementary materials. While not canon, some fans also interpret other characters like Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, or even Harry Potter as queer, but Dumbledore and Grindelwald are the key confirmed figures.
Obviously Percy is a least favorite, but I also feel like he's such an important character for the plot of the story. His character shows how easy it is to get sucked into propaganda and do the wrong thing even when you've been raised properly, and how political discord can tear families apart.
To help him and ensure he did not pose a danger, James, Peter, and Sirius decided to learn to transform. James became a stag, called Prongs; Peter turned into a rat, nicknamed Wormtail; and Sirius became a black dog, known as Padfoot. Lupin, the werewolf, was called Moony.
Kendra Dumbledore
Kendra was the wife of Percival and mother to Albus, Aberforth and Ariana. Her life was forever changed by the attack on her young daughter which left Ariana unable to control her magic.
They are from different families. Though Queenie might be related to Anthony Goldstein. Yeah, there are some similarities between them like they both were half blood and what u said but they are not related in any way. Also, Queenie was a naturally born legillimen while Snape had acquired that skill.
In general, Hufflepuff is seen as the worst Hogwarts house because they haven't contributed as much to the world of magic as other houses, though Newt Scamander would be a notable exception to that, however, he is one of a very short list outside of him and Helga Hufflepuff herself.
Here's our list of all eight films, ranked from the worst to the best!
Gryffindors can be brash/reckless and ego-centric, as well as short tempered. Slytherins ALSO think they are the best, and they are ambitious and productive. The Gryffindors think Slytherins aren't noble, which doesn't help. In conclusion, both houses think THEY are the best house.
At the end before Harry goes to get the stone, Hermione says "Books, cleverness, there are far more important things like bravery". Something to that extent. She may have been very brainy, but she valued Gryfindor's attributes more than Ravenclaws.
