You see, the free gift of God isn't something we do to make ourselves right or a good person. It is what God did by Jesus dying on the cross and being raised to life afterward. This is the free gift of God. All we do is to accept the free gift.
As we shall see, God gives every believer at least one spiritual gift at the time of the New Birth. Yet many Christians live much or all of their Christian life without realizing that fact or the impact of such a truth. The fact that every Christian receives at least one spiritual gift is evident in Scripture.
The addition of "free" highlights that "charisma" , as a divine gift, is given by God's grace and not earned through human merit or effort. Adding "free" to "gift" may be seen as redundant, but it emphasizes the grace (charis) of God.

These are the spiritual gifts known as word of knowledge, word of wisdom, prophecy, and the discerning of spirits. I call them “revelatory” gifts because they are always grounded in or flow out of something that the Spirit of God spontaneously reveals or makes known to the human heart and mind.

This may seem obvious to some, but not to everyone. When God speaks, His words will never contradict scripture. So, if you know God, you will know His Word in scripture, and therefore you will know if the message He sends is really from Him because it will reflect His Word in scripture.
The gift gives you the ability, the calling gives you you identity and the anointing gives you your purpose.
1 Peter 4:10 says that everyone has been given a gift. (That includes you, too.) “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.”
Believe in what God says is true, He has not set us up for failure. He is a loving Father who desires for us to fulfill the calling in our lives, and our response is to not to be in complacency, but in an awakening of passion. Take your place in shaping this world.
