IV vs CP — differences
A perfect IV Pokemon, when fully levelled up, will be as powerful as that particular species can be. On the other hand, a high CP will show power in terms of an absolute score but might be on the lower end of the potential spectrum. When battling, high CP Pokemon should be utilized.
A perfect IV Pokemon is a Pokemon with some its IVs (usually 4-5 of them) at the maximum value of 31. This can be extended to the right Nature, too.
Purified Pokemon will have better Appraisal and receive 2 points towards all their IVs. This can potentially bring a 2-star Shadow Pokemon to a 3-star if it's purified. Purified Pokemon will receive a significant boost in Combat Power (CP).
