Angel, born Liam, was 26 years old when he was turned into a vampire by Darla in 1753, making him a young adult human with a dissolute lifestyle before his transformation into the vampire Angelus.
Then in S2 and the build-up to Angelus, we see that Angel is turned by Darla in 1753. This would put his vampire years at 243 in S1, still pretty close to his declared age, but obviously excludes human years.
Characters. The series focuses on Angel (David Boreanaz), an Irish vampire who is over 240 years old. Angel was known as Angelus during his rampages across Europe, but was cursed with a soul, which gave him a conscience and guilt for centuries of murder and torture.
