The plain answer is no. The Killing Curse is illegal, not to mention its use carries the punishment of a life sentence without parole in Azkaban. Someone as shrewd and cunning as Lucius' character, who made sure to get rid of Dark magic items earlier wouldn't have intended to use it on Harry.
Avada Kedavra. Jason Isaacs (the actor for Lucius Malfoy) was told to use the first spell that came to his mind. If you look at any interview for that scene and the scene in Dumbledore's office, you'll actually find out that a lot of it is actually unscripted. They did it on the spot.
Lucius is a known practitioner of the Dark Arts with his wand, including Unforgivable Curses. He attempted to perform the Killing Curse on Harry in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but his once-enslaved house-elf Dobby interfered and repelled him.
Just once in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the killing curse used. This is performed by Severus Snape, high up in the clock tower, accompanied by Draco Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, and several other Death Eaters.

The Killing Curse was created in the early Middle Ages by Dark witches and wizards.
Who is immune to Avada Kedavra? Phoenixes were semi-protected from the Killing Curse, due to them being immortal. In 1996, Fawkes swallowed one intended for Albus Dumbledore, causing him to burst into flame and die instantly. However, he then was reborn from his ashes.
Lucius Malfoy's failure at the Department of Mysteries combined with accidentally destroying part of Voldemort's soul with the diary of Tom Riddle resulted in his loss of any standing with the Dark Lord. Some believed that he was safer in Azkaban than being free. Lucius was sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban.
The main reason is that Lucius failed to retrieve the prophecy from the Ministry of Magic, put that on top of all the other times Lucius failed, and it leads to him losing any clout he once carried within the Death Eaters.
Because he and his family defected from the Death Eaters they were pardoned for their crimes after Voldemort's final defeat and did not serve a stint in Azkaban. He and Narcissa later had a grandson, Scorpius Malfoy, after Draco married Astoria Greengrass.
Following his failure to obtain an important prophecy at the end of Order of the Phoenix, Lucius is sent to Azkaban for a while until Voldemort breaks him out, although he doesn't play much of a role in the series going forward.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.

Narcissa's greatest moment, however, was when she chose to betray Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Not knowing whether Draco was alive or dead, Narcissa chose to lie to the Dark Lord rather than risk losing her son.
The Malfoys are able to avoid serving time in Azkaban, as they provide evidence that helps the Ministry track down the Death Eaters who had fled after the war. It is also probable that, since Narcissa's lie to Voldemort saved Harry's life, the family is pardoned for their crimes.
His devotion to supporting Voldemort's cause
It also doesn't help that Voldemort was one. Lucius Malfoy did nothing to dispel this hateful impression and was a fully signed up supporter of pure-blood supremacy. In fact, he was in Lord Voldemort's closest circle as a Death Eater.
Lucius Malfoy craved authority and recognition. Nothing pleased him more than to contribute to a foundation and be elected to its board; nothing made him happier than to walk down the street and have magical folk either kiss up to him or duck their heads and cross the street. Arthur Weasley did neither.
The Malfoys didn't go to Azkaban mainly because at the end of the day, they put their family over Voldemort.
As a result, Voldemort was increasingly dismissive towards Lusicus and his whole family, culminating in the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, where the Malfoys at long last renounced their allegiance to the Dark Lord and defected to the good side.
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
