Author JK Rowling announced Albus Dumbledore was gay in 2007. It's known that he and Grindelwald were in a romantic relationship but it had never been explored in the previous Harry Potter films. Fantastic Beasts 3 might address the depth of their relationship.
Is Dumbledore In Love With Grindelwald? Warner Bros. Dumbledore and Grindelwald only spent about two months together, but the two canonically became lovers in that time. Their relationship was passionate and intense, and each wizard helped shape the philosophies of the other.
One of the most famous revelations about Dumbledore after the books were published was that he was actually in love with Gellert Grindelwald.
Dumbledore never trusted himself to love again after the way his friendship with Grindelwald ended.
It's at least implied that Albus was in love with Gellert. We don't really know for sure if they dated or not, as it's never been stated explicitly. Recently (with the release of The Crimes of Grindewald), however, J.K. Rowling stated that Albus did have feelings for Gellert, but they were one-sided.
Believing they were working towards the greater good, Dumbledore and Grindelwald parted ways following the death of Albus' sister Ariana who was caught in the crossfire of a duel between Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Albus' brother Aberforth.

A London court found the domestic violence allegations against Depp to be “substantially true”.
In the short clip, Dumbledore (Jude Law) can be seen confessing his love for Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen). The third installment of the Harry Potter prequel series is set to hit cinemas next month.

So why is this a big deal? Because Nagini also happens to be the name of another iconic “Harry Potter” character — Lord Voldemort's magical, extremely murderous pet snake. Well, just in case there was any doubt, “Harry Potter” creator JK Rowling confirmed the two characters are one and the same.
Credence Barebone Isn't Voldemort's Dad But He Could Be Snape's Grandfather.
Credence may well be related to Voldemort, but it would have to be through Voldemort's grandmother. That also means the mystery woman must've had a second child: Merope Gaunt, born in 1907. It's entirely possible that Aberforth could have sired a child with Voldemort's grandmother.
In the sequel, she decides to join Gellert Grindelwald in his crusade on the promise that she can marry Jacob due to a law refusing to allow humans and witches to marry. However, Queenie turns to the side of good again and both she and Jacob marry each other in 1932.
A short TV spot shows the two characters in discussion about the evil Grindelwald's plans to take over the world. When Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) implies that Dumbledore (Jude Law) promised he'd be by his side, he replies: “It's because I was in love with you.”
Grindelwald was described as being a brilliant and ambitious individual. He was highly intelligent and his magical skills were comparable to those of Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort. He was considered to be the most powerful Dark wizard of all time until the rise of Voldemort a generation later.
Voldemort's Quest for the Elder Wand Led Him to Grindelwald
He interrogated the wandmaker Ollivander for information about the Elder Wand, then began his search for the powerful item in Eastern Europe.
Dumbledore reveals how thoroughly he loves Harry. Harry is brave, and Dumbledore is proud as any father would be. More than that, Dumbledore succumbs to a parent's weakness; he cares more about Harry's happiness and wellbeing than the wizarding world he is trying to protect.
"I always saw Dumbledore as gay," Rowling said in response to a fan question about Dumbledore's love life. "Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald" and was "blinded" by it.
Dying as his own nature slowly poisoned him, Aurelius renounced his allegiance to Grindelwald and went home with his father, Aberforth Dumbledore.
