1. WHAT STREPSILS INTENSIVE LOZENGES ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR? The ingredient which makes this medicine work is called flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which help reduce inflammation (swelling) and pain.
Strepsils® (Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare International, Hull, UK) lozenges are medicated lozenges that contain the antibacterial (12, 13, 14) and antiviral (7) ingredients amylmetacresol (AMC; 0.6 mg) and 2,4‐dichlorobenzyl alcohol (DCBA; 1.2 mg).
