Lavender Brown (c. 1979/1980 – 2 May 1998) was a pure-blood witch, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Brown, and sorted into Gryffindor.
Lavender Brown is a Gryffindor student in Harry's year. She is a close friend of housemate Parvati Patil, and the two also seem to have a reasonably close relationship with Professor Trelawney, comforting and supporting her in her various crises.
Lavender was a somewhat silly and sentimental girl, though she was also brave, as she was sorted into Gryffindor house and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts.
When the battle for the wizarding world came to Hogwarts, Lavender stayed to fight. She was a Gryffindor, after all – and underneath the giggling and gossiping, she was brave. She was brave because she stayed to fight. She was brave because she stood up for herself.
