Any diet with more than a small amount of chicken, poultry or pork (with the exception of turkey) will have waaaay too much pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids (and will also be too high in polyunsaturated fats).
Many dry dog foods available on the market contain fillers such as corn bran, grain by-products, soybean, peanut, cottonseed, rice hulls and modified corn starch. Not only are these foods nutritionally deplete, but they may also negatively impact joint health by increasing the body's inflammatory response.
I don't recommend feeding chicken to dogs or cats that have allergies or other forms of inflammation because it increases inflammation in the body, it lacks essential nutrients, and can cause the health issues listed above.
