To prep for sex (we're mostly talking penetrative intercourse here, like vaginal and anal sex), your body needs a warm-up phase of kissing, touching, etc. That's when the penis erects and vagina lubricates to prepare for sex (because no lubrication = friction = pain).
The best way for me to put it is that you have to be 100% comfortable with yourself, the other person, and the particular sexual act that may happen between you. If you are comfortable with the other person, the sexual act, and of course you doing that sexual act with that other person, then you're probably ready!
Most had had sex by the time they were 18 - half had done it by the time they were turning 17. Nearly a third had sex before turning 16.
Regardless of your situation, there's nothing you can do to grow your hymen back. A virgin is someone who's never had sex. But people define “sex” and “losing virginity” in many different ways. Bottom line: the definition of virginity is complicated, and it's really up to you to decide what you believe.

Indulging in sex can cause your brain to release certain feel-good hormones called endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. These hormones are known to reduce stress in people, while contributing to happy feelings and emotions.
The hymen surrounds your vaginal opening like a ring or donut, and then, as it tears or stretches, it appears more like a crescent. If you have an annular or crescent-shaped hymen, it might look slightly different depending on the way your hymen has stretched or torn.
