Gen Z: Gen Z is the newest generation, born between 1997 and 2012. According to research and media, Alpha Generation years are between 2010 and 2025. Therefore, the Gen Alpha age range in 2023 is between 13 years and newborns.
Gen Z are most commonly defined as those born between 1997 to 2012.
1) GEN ZALPHA ARE A HYBRID GENERATION
Zalpha refers to 9-14-year-olds – a combination of gen z and gen alpha children.
The average human born in 1980 can expect to live for 63 years. Gen Alphas born in 2020 have a global average life expectancy of 73 years — 16% longer than their Millennial parents.
Generation Alpha includes anyone born between 2010 and now, including up to the year 2024. This means that the oldest members of Gen Alpha are 13 years old.
GENERATION Y OR THE MILLENNIALS: DIGITAL NATIVES
The revolution was shaped by the millennials or generation Y. Also known as digital natives, millennials are those born between 1982 and 1994 and technology is part of their everyday lives: all their activities are mediated by a screen.
Gen Z workers, aged between 18 and 26, make up about 35% of those wanting to quit, while millennials (aged 27 to 42) are another 31%.
Generation Z displays striking confidence when it comes to their retirement, according to a recent survey. Not only do Zoomers think they'll retire at 60 on average, according to the survey from Northwestern Mutual, but 2 in 5 of them also expect to live to 100.
The Credit Karma survey, which reached 1,006 adults in March and April, paints a poignant picture of the youngest generation of American adults, born after 1996, and their financial aspirations. Thirty-six percent of Generation Z expects to retire by 50, the survey found. Sixty-six percent expects to retire by 60.
When asked to rate themselves on a scale of 1 to 10, Gen Z moms feel they're doing better compared to Millennials in areas such as: Focusing on their children's emotional health. Teaching children to be accepting of all. Allowing them to explore their identities.
Gen Z is also the smartest and best educated generation. Having an unlimited wealth of information at our disposal has not gone to waste. In America, 57 percent of Gen Z is reported to have enrolled in a two-year or four-year college, compared to 52 percent of Millenials and 43 percent of Gen X.
Generation Alpha, also called Gen Alpha, term used to describe the generation of people born (or who will be born) between 2010 and 2025. Some researchers, however, consider slightly different ranges. The term was introduced by Australian social researcher Mark McCrindle in a 2008 report on the subject.
Alphas will be blessed in many ways, able to benefit from a world created by previous generations. But it's a world also loaded with challenges. The psychological impact of digital lives - the pace, the relentless change, connectivity, the lack of face-to-face contact - is yet to be fully understood.
They are the first generation to have never known a world without smartphones and social media. As a result, Gen Alpha kids are highly tech-savvy and have a different understanding of the world compared to previous generations.
Generation Alpha is smarter than the past generations, not due to evolution; instead, confounding variables such as improved diets and health, modernisation of communities and social awareness all lead to more intelligent generations.
