In the CW series Reign, Mary Queen of Scots has one surviving son, James, with her second husband, Lord Darnley, but also experiences several pregnancies that end in miscarriage or loss, including a set of twins with Darnley and a potential child with Francis.
Near the end of the episode, Greer is revealed to be pregnant, carrying Martin the pirate's child. In Our Undoing, Mary asks Greer to leave the castle with her girls within the hour, as one of Don Carlos' men suspects them of inflicting injury upon the prince.
She is later confronted about it by his mother, Lady Lennox, when she starts having contractions. She gives birth to a baby boy. After her long and painful labor, Mary gets to hold her son in her arms for the first time. She decides to be with Bothwell and shares a moment of peace with him and her son.

Some suggest Darnley himself planted the gunpowder in order to kill Mary, while others claim it was those who felt betrayed by Darnley switching allegiances in the Riccio murder. Nobles who opposed Darnley's position in Scotland may have been responsible.
Unfortunately, Mary's privy councillors discovered the plot and arrested both her and Bothwell. History tells us that Mary fled to England, where she was kept confined by Elizabeth until Mary was beheaded for plotting against her cousin.
Sebastian "Bash" de Poitiers is a male lead and tritagonist of Reign. He is portrayed by Torrance Coombs. The daring, cheeky Bash was never groomed to be king, but when Henry II went to great lengths to have him legitimised so that he could wed Mary Stuart and together they could take England, he had no choice.
Rose Castleroy is a recurring character in the fourth season in Reign. She is the daughter of Greer Castleroy and Martin de Lambert.
In the show, however, Condé marries Elizabeth I and together they attempt to take the French throne. By contrast to the show, where Condé leads a siege against Francis II, the historical Condé didn't do that. He did, however, try to take the crown by force from Francis' brother, but he failed to do so.

During the Event. Shortly before the wedding takes place the castle hall is seen being set up for the celebrations; Lola and Lord Julien (Remy) are getting married after he proposes to her in Liege Lord despite him knowing that she is pregnant, and cannot say who the father is.

On her way to the christening, Mary starts to suffer a miscarriage. Conde happens upon her and helps her to her room. There is blood on her shoes. She doesn't want to ruin the christening and won't tell anyone until after.
Henri's wife, Catherine de Medici resented Mary as she was a Queen, giving her precedence over Catherine's daughters in the royal nursery. In Scotland, Mary's mother, Marie de Guise was to become Regent ruling in Mary's name from 1554.
