Intermediate B1 to B2 – German level B1 takes 200 hours and B2 takes approximately 300 hours to become fluent. Advance C1 to C2 – C1 Level takes around 240 hours and C2 level takes around 240 hours to complete the whole course and become a pro at speaking German.
I have taught many students throughout the years. Even though most of them learn relatively fast and achieve B1/B2 level in about 12 months, just a few of them get to B2 level in 4-8 months.
However, moving from B1 to B2 level in German typically requires six to twelve months of intensive study.
The B levels in the German language is when you really start to use the language independently, requiring little to no help in keeping the conversation going. The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) suggests that you need about 750 hours to get to the B2 level.
It's generally considered that reaching B2 is having basic fluency.
Passing a B2 test with three months of practice is definitely possible; however, that is not the same as actually reaching B2 in a certain language.
Level B1 indicates a more intermediate speaker who can hold basic conversations and understand simple texts. Level B2 is considered advanced, and speakers at this level can participate in complex conversations and understand long and difficult texts.
How hard is B2 level German? The German language is complex yet highly systematic. For a systematic language, you need a systematic course structure though. If the course material you are using has a thought-out structure, then it shouldn't be difficult.
If you´d like to work in Germany you´ll get by if your German is on level B1/B2 (online test). The certificate issued by GLS is recognized by many employers and even some universities in Germany.
You can reach ANY goal with a great Tutor guiding you but the student must want to learn. And you can achieve B2 in 6 months time if you do all the homework, if you do at least 2 hours weekly with a Tutor .
When you pass the B1 level exam, means that you are entering an intermediate level of the German language. Also, you get the right to call yourself an intermediate speaker. The exam certifies that students are independent users of the German language and they follow the standards laid down by CEFR.
They say that you need to have completed at least 350 45-minute German lessons/practice sessions to reach B1, which would take roughly a year and a half since most people can't take a lesson every single day in a row.
C2 (Upper Advanced/Fluent)

So for the average learner which you very likely are, getting to B2 takes at least 9 months of intensive (!) daily study. And that's what you should consider as the most realistic amount of time to learn German fast.

The B2 German language level is another huge step forward. You can now understand the critical parts in complex texts, even in abstract topics. In addition, you can communicate clearly and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various positions and options.

Lifelong. This certificate does not have an expiry date. The exam has 4 modules (reading, writing, listening and speaking) which are graded from 0 to 100. to A minimum score of 60/100 is required to pass each of them.
Whether you are planning to study or work in Germany, it is highly recommended to be proficient in the German language at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
