Parents should know that there are some sexual references (Josie's friend at the office brags about her sex life but envies Josie's views on love) and uncomfortable "relationships" between teens and twentysomethings who are pretending to be teens (as well as between a teacher and a girl he believes to be a teen).
Plot. Josie Geller is an insecure 25-year-old copy editor for the Chicago Sun-Times who has never had a real relationship. One day, her editor-in-chief, Rigfort, assigns her to report undercover at a high school to help parents become more aware of their children's lives.
ET was on the set of Never Been Kissed with a then 23-year-old Barrymore and Vartan, who was 29 years old at the time. Vartan told ET that Barrymore fought to cast him in the film. Watch the video below for more.
Never Been Kissed starred Barrymore as Josie, a newspaper reporter who enrolls in high school as part of research for a story. She ends up falling in love with her teacher, Mr. Coulson (Vartan). In the film's final scene, the two romantically kiss in the middle of a baseball field in front of the entire high school.
Much to the anger of Aldys, Josie becomes popular and hangs out with the cool crowd. Sam and Josie grow closer but Sam struggles with his feelings as he thinks that she is a student and therefore off limits.
NEVER BEEN KISSED
Never Been Kissed definitely had my favorite prom theme “Made for Each Other,” AKA famous couples throughout history. Drew goes as Rosalind and her teacher/crush (who I think at this point still thinks she's a student so I guess this is kind of weird…)
In hindsight, Never Been Kissed should always have been considered problematic. It's a film about adults posing as high schoolers, framing inappropriate and predatory relationships either in the rosy glow of fantasy romance, or playing them for laughs.

Josie is a loving person and a loyal friend, but those are characteristics that aren't necessarily valued in the world of high school cliques. She's practically the definition of uncool, and while she is sweet and fun to be around, she lacks natural charisma, at least in the traditional sense.
Kiss someone when you feel ready, regardless of how old you are. Around ages 12-15, people often start having their first kiss. Don't feel pressured by other people your age kissing people, and don't rush into kissing someone if you are apprehensive. You'll know intuitively when the time feels right.

So, do actors really kiss? Short answer: It depends. They usually do some form of kissing, but there are ways to get around it (more on that later). Whether you wind up locking lips with another actor or not, there's a lot that goes into kissing scenes that you should know about.
Prom Night Review
It is a almost goreless PG-13 slasher film. The acting is okay. I just wish it was at least R rated. So I say okay for ages 13 and up.
The phrase “sweet sixteen and never been kissed” refers to the innocence of childhood and the coming of age of children. It also relates to the increased need for autonomy by adolescents.
