While you can undergo an invasive medical procedure to address one of your cosmetic concerns at a time, you will be waiting between six and 12 months to see the final results of treatment. And they're not even permanent! With dermal filler injections, you are looking at waiting 14 days at most for the filler to settle.
You can expect different amounts of time for different fillers: Juvederm and Restylane fillers usually show their final results within two weeks. Radiesse fillers take between one and two weeks to settle. Sculptra takes 4-6 weeks to yield final results, but it also lasts longer than other filler options.
This filler works naturally, much like the hyaluronic acid your body already produces. Because it works this way, it takes two to three weeks to fully settle into your skin. This means that while you'll see an immediate improvement, you won't see your final results right away.

After your dermal filler treatment, you should remain in an upright position for 3-4 hours and avoid rubbing or applying any pressure on the treated area. This will prevent the filler from migrating to other areas. The best sleeping positions following treatment limit facial movement and stress on the face.
After 24 hours the skin is sealed again naturally at the puncture sites and you can go back to washing your face normally. We are all aware that fillers are hyaluronic acid gels. When injected they take a while to settle in the injected area.
It takes up to 4 weeks for the filler to fully integrate into the tissue and some fillers are more cohesive than others. Because the aging process is continuous, fillers aren't a one-off solution, and you will need to return to the clinic every so often for top-up appointments. Most of our patients visit us once every 6-12 months, but this isn't a hard-and-fast rule.

– Salty & sugary foods – could cause you to excessively lick the lips, which could cause sensitivity or even infection. – Hot & cold drinks – these could lead to developing blisters or even burns, as your lips will be particularly sensitive.
By day three, the swelling should be improved. Swelling will reach its peak at around 24-72 hours after treatment, at which point, it will begin to gradually subside. Occasionally, swelling can last for 1-4 weeks, but this isn't as common. Most people do see an improvement within 3 days.
6 to 10 Hours After Treatment
Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. To help alleviate swelling, we recommend an antihistamine during the day, such as Zyrtec or Claritin, and Benadryl at night.
The benefits of both Botox and fillers will be gone and you'll notice that those lines and volume loss will come back. If you, however, start your injectable treatments once more, your face will be smooth again or have a more youthful appearance.
The three fillers that tend to last the longest are Juvederm Voluma, Radiesse, and Sculptra. Juvederm Voluma is used on the cheeks, and the acid used can last up to 2 years.
Higher levels of zinc in the body can allow fillers to last longer, making it necessary to increase your intake through supplements or the foods that you enjoy in your diet. You can also get into the habit of taking a zinc supplement after each appointment when you get filler injectables.
On the day of your filler treatment, an ice pack or bag of frozen peas can be applied to the swollen area for a maximum of 10 minutes per hour for the rest of the day to diminish swelling. Swelling can last 3-4 days. It is also normal to experience some tenderness. You may take Tylenol for this.
“Pillow face” is a direct play on the puffy, unattractive result of using too much facial filler or transferred fat. Another term often used to describe this overfilled look is “chipmunky.”
