Turn on Delivery Receipts to find out if your text message was delivered to the recipient. (This option doesn't tell you if the message was read.) On newer phones, open the Messages app and go to Settings > Advanced > Get SMS delivery reports.
A double gray checkmark means the message was sent to the person's phone. Two blue checkmarks confirm the message was read. If the person glances over your messages from the WhatsApp home without opening the thread, you won't see a blue checkmark in the conversation.
DELIVERED = confirmation the message has reached the recipient's phone but fails to show if it has been "seen" yet. "Delivered" is a good sign. It means that the text is ready and waiting for them to open it.
The recipient opted out of messages or blocked your number
Similarly, if a recipient blocks your phone number, your message won't be delivered. This is the likely explanation if you don't see a “Delivered” or “Read” message notification.
Do texts messages say delivered if blocked? If you send text messages to a phone that blocked you on Android, you never see a delivered or sent note. However, on Apple, which has iOS 9 and above, if you send on its iMessage to someone who blocked you will never say "delivered" and remain blue sign.
SENT means the message has been submitted to the cellular network for immediate delivery. DELIVERED means the message was delivered to the recipient's cell phone.
When it doesn't say Delivered, it means the other person is texting someone else or on the phone. Once they stop texting or hang up the phone, you will see the text message has been delivered.
Check your network connection
Make sure your android phone has a strong network connection before sending a text message. Turn on and off airplane mode to refresh the connection so that your device can get the signal from the nearest signal towers.
Android. Depending on the Android device you're using, you might be able to see your messages as “Sent” and “Delivered” inside the messaging app you're using. If you are not able to see them as “Delivered,” there is one thing that you can do: Enable SMS delivery report.
When you send them an SMS and you get the "Delivered" notification underneath it, you weren't blocked. If you get a notification like "Message Not Delivered" or you get no notification at all, that's a sign of a potential block.
If you send a message to someone and the message is not delivered, meaning that only an unfilled check mark icon appears, it generally means one of two things: The user has not logged into Facebook. The user has blocked you on Messenger.
There are a number of reasons why an SMS message might not get delivered, but some of the most common are: the recipient opted out of messages. the recipient blocked your phone number, the message contained illegal content. there were network problems with the recipient's carrier.
One method you can use on any type of phone is by calling the person you suspect has blocked you. While typically you can expect to hear anywhere from three to 12 rings when you call someone before going to voicemail, a blocked number will only ring once and then go straight to voicemail, according to Tom'sGuide.com.
Try sending a text message
However, if a person has blocked you, you won't see either notification. Instead, there will just be a blank space beneath your text. It's worth noting that being blocked is not the only reason why you might not see a notification.
If someone using an Android device blocks your number, you can't contact them via SMS, cellular calls, or RCS messaging. When an iPhone user blocks your number, you can't reach the person via iMessage, FaceTime, cellular calls, and SMS messages.
For Android, go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > Caller ID. Then, select Hide Number. Your calls will remain anonymous and you can bypass the blocked list.
Simply put, after you block a number, that caller can no longer reach you. Phone calls do not ring through to your phone, and text messages are not received or stored.
When it doesn't say Delivered, it means the other person is texting someone else or on the phone. Once they stop texting or hang up the phone, you will see the text message has been delivered.
If your message was sent successfully, you'll see the words “Delivered” or “Read” (if they have Read Receipts on) below the last iMessage that you sent them. If you don't see these words, it means they either didn't get your message, don't have adequate service to receive messages, or might have blocked you.
If the person who you sent a message to has their read receipts enabled, then they will automatically send a read receipt when they open the message. Some people don't have receipts enabled, and it's usually pretty easy to tell.
It does NOT mean the recipient has opened it, merely that it was delivered. If you are sending to device on another carrier, you won't see "delivered" since it's another network, and Verizon can't see if it was successfully delivered to the device.
Look for the checkmarks: A single gray checkmark indicates a successfully sent message. The appearance of a second gray checkmark shows your message was delivered to the recipient's phone. The two checkmarks will turn blue if the recipient has viewed your message.
