Chronic gastritis is linked to another chronic condition that you have. Specific treatments can cure some of these conditions. Other conditions aren't curable, but long-term treatments can reduce the inflammation they cause. Chronic gastritis may have done deeper damage to your tissues, so they may take longer to heal.
Most cases of gastritis will resolve naturally once the cause is no longer present, such as when you're done with your NSAIDs medication or after you've recovered from stomach surgery.
Acute gastritis usually lasts for a short period of time. In most cases, it resolves spontaneously within a few days or weeks once the inflammation has settled. In other cases, however, acute gastritis can lead to recurrent or long-term inflammation of the gastric mucosa, otherwise known as chronic gastritis.

Surgical intervention is not necessary for gastritis, except in the case of phlegmonous gastritis or acute necrotizing gastritis. GERD is when a person often and repeatedly has acid reflux or heartburn. GERD is a serious condition that can eventually lead to a person experiencing complications.
Stress can cause a stomachache, and an even more serious condition called gastritis. If your bout of indigestion or inflammation lingers for a week or more – or if there is blood in your vomit or feces – you should see a physician to determine if you have gastritis.
Water has a neutral ph. Drinking large amounts of water controls the acid levels of gastric juices, which helps accelerate the healing of gastritis. You should avoid drinking too much water immediately before and after meals, as it can be counterproductive.

Gastritis Can Become a Serious Emergency
Feeling confused or passing out can also indicate blood loss. If there is bright red or maroon blood in the stool, a “tarry” appearance in the stool, or vomiting of blood, this is considered an emergency and may be life-threatening.
People with gastritis may benefit from eating berries, fermentable fibers, and whole grains. In contrast, sweets, spicy foods, fried foods and processed meats may make symptoms worse. Gastritis refers to the inflammation of the stomach lining.
Frequent upset stomach or diarrhoea
The sensation of uneasiness or discomfort and chronic diarrhoea are amongst the first and major signs of gastritis. Black or tarry bowel movements are usually caused by erosive gastritis.
Chronic gastritis takes a long time to recover and sometimes involves sick leave of several weeks. If gastritis has been around for a long time, complications such as bleeding gastric ulcers (ulcer ventriculi) may need to be operated on.
A gastritis diet involves the avoidance of spicy, acidic, fried, fatty, and processed foods, including fast foods, full-fat dairy, tomatoes, and citrus. Alcohol, sugary drinks, and caffeine are also on the "miss" list. Choose bland foods that are non-acidic and low in sugar.
