In the subsequent skirmish
As seen in the official teaser for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released last May, Cal loses his lightsaber in a battle against a Sith. His lightsaber is then carried by a group of stormtroopers and placed into the hands of an obvious person of power who appears to be working for the Empire.
Jaro Tapal told Cal Kestis to open the pod quickly while he was trying to destroy the clones. Right when Cal Kestis got the escape pod open, one of the clone troopers unfortunately shot Jaro Tapal's lightsaber near the bottom blade.
Throughout the story, he blames himself for the death of his master, with the damaged lightsaber being a constant reminder of the fateful day. Getting to rebuild it, and then finally using its full power with Cal's guilt relieved, simply makes more sense.
Cal Kestis is still alive and well by the end of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, despite spending most of the game being hunted down by the Empire's Inquisitors and having a near-death encounter with the dreaded Darth Vader himself.
Nevertheless, it seems that Bode betrayed Cal in order to keep his daughter alive and further his own interests. However, that isn't the most shocking thing that happens during this encounter.
Meeting Luke Skywalker
Eventually Cal found himself on the desert planet of Tatooine, where he met Luke Skywalker in Ben Kenobi's old hut. The two agreed to search for jedi holocrons together, unofficially founding the New Jedi Order together.
The blue lightsaber is representative of a Jedi Guardian, a Jedi who is more physical with the force than others. Blue is the starting color of Fallen Order's protagonist, Cal Kestis, and the color itself can symbolize important traits of the Jedi code: stability, loyalty, and trust.
Although the canon color of the weapon's blade is blue, its kyber crystal can be customized with the other possible colors of green, orange, purple, yellow, indigo, cyan, and magenta.
But Cal Kestis doesn't appear to ever find a red lightsaber crystal. This is intentional, of course. Those who are fans of the franchise and of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in particular know that Cal isn't exactly a Sith-in-the-making. The red crystal, for this reason, doesn't seem to go with his vibe.
Cal Kestis is not the last Jedi, but he is the last ginger (probably)
During the events of Fallen Order, Cal was around 18 years old.
As pointed out by Redditor AnonDooDoo, all four of Cal's scars that can be seen in the Jedi: Survivor key art were there in Jedi: Fallen Order, although they were a little more subtle. The scar on his neck comes from the Order 66 attack, while the scars on his lip, eyebrow, and nose were never explained.
Did you know that before Cal Kestis got absolutely. destroyed by Vader in Fallen Order, they actually met in The Clone Wars, back when Anakin was still a Jedi Knight. In the Star Wars book Brotherhood, Obi Wan observes Anakin having an interaction.
The Betrayal
After hearing about Tanalorr, Bode decides that the hidden planet is the only way to save himself and Kata from the Empire. He decides to betray Cal and tells the IBS and the Inquitorius about the hidden base on Jedha. Bode kills Eno Cordova, and Cere dies in a duel with Darth Vader.
Scrapper Outfit Overview
Cal is also wearing a thick glove to protect him from the sharp metals that a scrapper must deal with on a daily basis.
Cal Kestis and Starkiller come from vastly different places, but they may be two sides of the same coin. One was forged by Vader while the other one was forged by rebellion, but they both ultimately do what is right in the end.
Silver Lightsabers
In Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi uses a silver lightsaber when he faces off against his former apprentice, Darth Vader. This represents the end of Kenobi's time as a Jedi and the beginning of his new role as a protector of peace.
While Cal became adept in using both single and dual-bladed staff saber combat in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (as well as the ability to quickly swap to two sabers), you'll be able to learn five distinct styles in Jedi Survivor that each have a wide moveset and abilities.
The prerequisite to changing your lightsaber's color is to obtain Kyber Crystals. These will be available once you make your way through the Jedi Temple and solve a series of puzzles. What is this? Once you have the Kyber Crystals, you can change the color of your lightsaber at any workbench.
What is the rarest lightsaber color? The rarest lightsaber color is black and is known as a Darksaber. Tarre Vizsla created it – the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi order.
Cal Kestis
Cal hasn't appeared in anything since, but with Fallen Order ending with him still being alive, that provides enough justification for him being alive at the time of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

On Ilum, Kestis remembered when he was on the planet with Yoda when he was younger to find the kyber crystal to build his first lightsaber. Being in a place that had once been so important to the Jedi made Kestis feel like there were ghosts of the past surrounding him.
