A single tick on WhatsApp means a message is sent from your phone to the server but not delivered to the recipient's device; however, if you're seeing them online (or can message other apps) but still only get one tick, it means they've likely used a trick to disconnect their WhatsApp from the internet while keeping data on, read messages via preview, or are using WhatsApp Plus, allowing them to appear offline but still receive messages in the background, while the sender sees only one tick.
One gray checkmark: The message has been sent successfully, but has not yet been delivered to the recipient. Two grey ticks: The message has been delivered to the recipient's device, but has not yet been read. Two green or blue ticks: The message has been read by the recipient.
Recipient's Phone Off or Out of Coverage: If the recipient's phone is turned off or out of network coverage, the message can't be delivered until their phone is back online. Blocked Contact: If you are blocked by the recipient, your messages will only show one tick, indicating that they were sent but not delivered.

One grey tick means your message was sent but not delivered.
It could mean they've blocked you, that their phone is off or that they have no internet connection.
Messages show only one grey checkmark
Messages sent to a contact who has blocked you will have a single grey checkmark, indicating that the message was sent but not delivered. This might also occur if their phone is off or they're experiencing network issues.
If you see a WhatsApp single tick for a long time, it may indicate that someone has blocked you. Any messages you send to them will always show only one tick and never be delivered.
Signs You Might Be Muted
If you think you might have been muted by someone, there are some clues that might indicate this: You don't see any typing indicators when they're typing a message. Your messages are delivered, but they don't show as "read".
One tick means the message is sent, 2 ticks means it's been delivered 2 ticks in blue mean message has been read. Thanks for your question.

Here are the steps:
The little clock means your message hasn't been sent yet. Once you connect to a mobile network or Wi-Fi, the message will be sent, and you'll see at least one check mark. This can also happen if WhatsApp itself is having an outage. In that case, there's nothing to do except wait.
If a person has blocked you, you will not be able to see their message read confirmation (double blue check mark). You will still be able to see message sent confirmations (single gray check mark). You can't see the contacts' statuses.
So, to confirm if someone is reading your WhatsApp message from another device, please go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked devices. If there is an unknown device connected to your WhatsApp, remove it to stop unauthorized access.
Generally, a double tick confirms that your message has been successfully sent; not necessarily seen by the other person, but sent successfully. A single tick means that the message may or may not have been delivered.
