God hears you through your spoken words, silent thoughts, and even wordless groans, as He is all-knowing and present, listening to your heart and mind, not just your voice, often responding through His timing, guidance (like the Holy Spirit), inner peace, or sometimes through dreams, visions, or by prompting others, with sincerity, faith, and openness being key to feeling heard.
But if for some reason you are not convinced, here are five signs to know that yes, God does hear you when you pray.
The simple answer is yes, God hears your prayers. An ever-present, all-knowing God will hear every word from your mouth, thought in your mind and whisper of your heart. But there are some things that might affect whether He answers. Now, let us get one thing straight before we go on… God loves you.
The surest and safest way to test whether what you are hearing is from God is to compare it to what God has already said. The Bible is God's written word. God doesn't change, contradict himself, lie, or make mistakes. So if it doesn't line up with what he has already said in the Bible, then that voice is not from God.
There are endless ways to actively connect with God's voice, for example, through our imaginations (pictures or senses), or through physical activities such as going for a walk and asking God to highlight something to us from nature.
Church teaching says nothing about the time of 3 a.m. However, in popular culture it has become known as the “devil's hour.” This is because Gospel tradition reports that Jesus died at 3 p.m., and so—because the devil likes to mock God—the inverse hour of 3 a.m. is considered the time the devil chooses to manifest most ...
Unbelief and doubt: Our lack of faith and trust in God can make it difficult to hear His voice. 4. Fear and anxiety: When we're consumed by fear and anxiety, it can be hard to hear God's calming voice.
The Bible speaks of six ways that God speaks to us:
In the Bible God gets angry at human violence. He gets angry at powerful leaders who oppress other humans. And the thing that makes God more angry than anything else in the Bible is Israel's constant covenant betrayal.
Understanding the Eight Prayer Watches: The Fourth Prayer Watch (3:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M.) The fourth prayer watch is always important because it is the last prayer watch of the night. It was during this time the Israelites were delivered from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 12, 14).
God Hears You
He hears our cries of unhappiness, pain, frustration, exhaustion, and fear. We can be honest with Him. His listening ear is always open to our prayers. His loving heart wants to embrace us as we cry on His shoulder.
Four Basics of Hearing God's Voice
As the apostle John writes in 1 John 5:3, “In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” Like my old car's engine light, God gives us warning signs when we are veering off-course.
The Bible describes the night as divided into watches. Midnight to 3AM is the third watch. From 3AM to 6AM is the fourth. It was during this time that Jesus prayed and even walked on the water toward His disciples.
The biggest unforgivable sin varies by faith, but in Christianity, it's often seen as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, a persistent rejection of God's grace, while in Islam, the gravest unforgivable sin is shirk, or associating partners with God, if not repented. Pride is also considered a foundational, serious sin across many faiths, linked to the downfall of figures like Satan.
Injustice – God tells the prophet, Amos (5:21-24), that God hates worship and worship services when God's people don't also act outside of worship with justice and righteousness. Stubbornness about religious rules.
Proverbs 6:16-19 "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among ...
So how can Scripture help us know if God is speaking to us? Well, if a conviction of yours lines up with God's Word, or if you're facing a choice and one of your options lines up with Scripture, that's an excellent indicator that God might be encouraging you to pursue a particular path.
Ephesians 4:11 outlines five types of calling in the Bible — Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher — each designed to edify and strengthen the Church.
He has not hidden from us but has instead chosen to reveal Himself to us through His word and ultimately in the person of Jesus. Therefore, we can rest in the secret things because the revealed things give us an understanding of the God who holds all existence in His hands.
diagnosed with psychotic spectrum disorders experience what we consider to be hallucinations or delusions with religious/spiritual content. Some of these ambiguous signals include hearing the voice of God, a god, or gods; seeing a vision of a religious being; communicating with otherworldly spirits; and so forth.
God is sometimes silent because He is awaiting the appointed time to speak. What is important is for us to wait for Him in His silence, to hold on to what He last said as we anticipate His response.
God's voice is most clearly heard through His Word.
His will and voice will never contradict His Word. Luke 21:33 says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Truth never changes. God will never tell you to violate a principle that He's already given you. Opinions can change.
