After Claire reassures Ian that he would likely have healthy children if he married another, as being Rh-negative is rare, Ian finds love again in Gabaldon's seventh book, An Echo in the Bone.
Ian and Rachel were reunited in May or June 1778, when Ian and William stopped Arch Bug's attempt to kill Rachel. The two became engaged and married in a double Quaker wedding along with Denzell and Dorothea Grey in late July or early August.
Malva developed a sexual relationship with Ian Murray during the time frame that she was trying to find someone to place blame upon for her pregnancy. Ian knew that he was not the only man she was sleeping with, after he showed late for one of their meetings he found her having sex with Bobby Higgins instead.
Ian and Rachel then come to Lord John Grey's house, where Ian is reunited with his mother Jenny Murray. Rachel and Ian marry in Philadelphia in late July/early August. In late spring 1779, Ian returns to the Fraser's Ridge in North Carolina, bringing his pregnant wife Rachel with him.
An Echo in the Bone
Jenny asks Claire to heal Ian, but the sickness has progressed too far, and Claire's helpless "no" causes a rift between the two women. A short time later, Ian dies, surrounded by his family and holding Jamie's hand, on March 10, 1778.
Janet "Jenny" Fraser Murray: Jamie's older sister, and only living sibling. She is married to Ian Murray and has seven children.
Luckily, as he was not a virgin at the time, Ian managed to survive but was still drugged and raped by Mrs Abernathy. Eventually, he was rescued by his auntie and uncle Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Faser (Sam Heughan).
Claire technically has three husbands when you read all eight current Outlander books.
The killer is in fact Malva's brother, Allan Christie (Alexander Vlahos). He is also the father of her baby, having raped and abused Malva since she was a child. Malva had decided to tell the truth, which is why Allan killed her.

We eventually learn that Ian had two unborn children who Emily (his wife) miscarried and then a daughter Yeksa'a Iseabaìl, who dies as a baby. Claire hears about it and considers whether there was a problem with mixed blood.
When Jamie's negotiations with the governor for Claire's freedom fail, Tom Christie confesses to Malva's murder. In November 1776, Allan comes to Malva's grave and confesses to Claire about raping his sister, that he was the father of Malva's child, and that he killed her because she was going to tell the truth.
One book reader in the comments confirmed: “Malva uses fluids from the dead Sin Eater to poison Claire and her dad after Claire tells her about how germs and illness work.”
Malva Christie might have only been introduced in Outlander Season 6, but she has a central role in the drama. The daughter of Tom Christie, she is both naive and sinister, and many Outlander fans have struggled to work out her true intentions.
Mary Hawkins' baby was that of Alex Randall, with her and Jack only marrying to ensure Mary was provided for after Alex's death. But that didn't make Mary and Black Jack Randall's wedding valid. If you remember back to “The Wedding,” Jamie made it clear that he and Claire had to consummate the relationship.
While Ian had been adopted into the tribe, his spirit was still not right for Emily's spirit. Some of the tribe (and Emily) decided it was time for Young Ian to leave. Emily moved onto Kaheroton (and they would end up having a son together), and Young Ian was told to go back to his own family.
In the novels, Marsali and Fergus apparently know. They haven't been told on-page, but Diana Gabaldon confirms that the two know that Claire, Bree, and Roger are time travelers.
Jamie denies having slept with her, but the damage to his and to Claire's reputation is done—and the bond between the Frasers and Malva is severed, until just a few weeks later, when Claire finds Malva murdered in the garden. “It's like the peak of the tragedy, and it's so visceral.
Fans of the novels by Diana Gabaldon will know Jamie is not the father of Malva's baby but it's someone much closer to home. Allan (Alexander Vlahos) is the father of Malva's child and had been abusing his sibling for many months and when she felt guilty about her lies, he decides to silence her.
The haircutting was part of the process. Malva wanted to make Claire undesirable. She wanted to make Jamie turn to her instead of to his wife. We can get a sense of that from the way Claire worried about Jamie seeing her with the short, jagged hair.
Because yes, Claire and Lord John end up married in book seven, and yes, they drunkenly (and full of grief for the loss of Jamie, whom they both love with all of their heart) consummate that marriage. And then Jamie shows up alive and well!
Some think Jamie's spirit (but not his body) traveled to through time to guide Claire to him; others suggest Jamie had a near-death experience after the Battle of Culloden, and that's why his ghost is 25 when he appears to Frank.
The simple answer is no. Claire and Jamie don't have any more children after Brianna. Claire heads through the stones while pregnant with Brianna at the end of the second season/book. She spends 20 years in the 20th century, and she and Frank don't have any children together.
Ian provides few details after his mysterious reappearance in episode 8, aside from disclosing that he had a wife. Now, in Outlander season 6, episode 4, “Hour of the Wolf,” Ian's story finally unfolds. Joining their tribe, Ian found love with a Mohawk woman, Emily, and the pair were married.
Just as she begins to worry that Jamie might be capable of lying to her, Jamie quells her fear by revealing to her his indiscretion with Mary MacNab, a woman who worked at Lallybroch, while Claire was back in 1968 with Frank and Brianna. This confession soothes Claire, and the two find themselves realigned once again.
By the end of book 6, Brianna and Roger, after the birth of their second child, decide to return to the future, taking Jemmy with them in order to escape the hardships of the 1770s; a storyline that would shake up Brianna and Roger's arc in the Outlander series for the first time since they came to the past in season 4 ...
