While PepsiCo is one of the largest global buyers of palm oil in the consumer products industry, our purchase in 2021 represented less than 1% of the global supply. It is used primarily in our convenient food manufacturing because of its wide availablility and shelf stability.

Most shampoos contain palm oil ingredients. You really need to be a proactive consumer to find shampoo without palm oil. Don't assume natural shampoos are palm oil free. Typically, they also contain palm oil derivatives and harmful chemicals which can irritate sensitive scalps.
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has stopped using palm oil for fast food sold in its Australian outlets, reports ABC News. KFC says the decision came after complaints from customers about its use of palm oil, which at times is linked to deforestation in Southeast Asia.
