How To Treat Fleas In Human Hair? A shampoo washes the fleas from the hair roots. Gently massage the shampoo into your hair and wait for 2 to 3 minutes. You can also use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to remove the fleas from your hair.
Some may need daily baths for severe infestations, where others will only need once a week. It may also depend on the kind of shampoo you use.

Not treating often enough
Fleas go through a life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae and adult. Most flea treatments just kill adult fleas, but fleas can continue to emerge for months after you think an infestation has ended. When a newly emerged female flea finds a host, she can lay eggs within one day.
Put a dish of warm soapy water under a desk lamp and shine the lamp on the water overnight. Make sure all the other lights in your house are turned off. Fleas are attracted to the light and will drown in the soapy water. Be careful not to leave your trap in reach of curious pets or children!
I did more research and used green LED tea lights because fleas are most attracted to green/yellow-green lights. Fleas are least attracted to white and warm white/yellow lights. These worked great in flea traps.
A normal laundry detergent will be enough to kill any fleas on bedding.

Stopping Treatment Early
