Near the end of the game, Ryan is injured with a knife. Choose to keep the knife in the wound so you don't get spotted. You will have the option to choose to infect him to survive his mortal wound. Choose the bite to heal his wound and for him to continue the adventure.
He is the only character you will need to get infected in the game. When given the option, do not pull away from Laura when she's about to bite you. Towards the end, he will get cured and live. If you refuse the bite, Ryan will die.
After the two chat for a bit, Laura suggests biting Ryan to heal his wound. People need to ACCEPT the bite; otherwise, Ryan will die from blood loss later on in the chapter. Finally, while Chris is fighting Bobby, Laura transforms and attacks Travis.
Laura comes to finally scare Bobby off. At this point, Ryan is now dying from his wound. However, Laura offers to bite him. If you want to save Ryan in The Quarry, ACCEPT LAURA'S BITE.
If Bobby was not stabbed, he will protect his family from Chris and will be able to get out of it alive, leaving Chris to attack Ryan instead. If he was stabbed, he will get his throat mauled, leaving his parents If he survives this encounter, he is not seen again for the rest of the game.
If you survive the hiding section and still have the knife, Ryan has the option to stab Bobby. Doing so doesn't kill him directly, but will render him unable to take on his brother in werewolf form shortly after, which guarantees Bobby's death.
Since the lodge has a broken door, the other counselors can sneak in and hide without issue, which causes the monsters to focus on the hut instead. It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads.
If you choose Dare, Ryan will be told to kiss Dylan or Kaitlyn. If you choose Dylan, the two will share a quick kiss.
You can save Chris in chapter 9 « The Matriache » You must not shoot him with Ryan, however this act causes the death of Travis, Laura and Ryan. This action leads you to not achieve the best « Rough Night » ending.
Once Laura calms down and fights the infection, she'll offer to bite Ryan and infect him with the curse to stop him from bleeding out and dying. To infect Ryan, simply accept Laura's offer and do not pull away during the interruption. Here are the choices you need to make in order to infect Ryan in Chapter 9.
When can Dylan get infected? The first chance for Dylan to get infected is during Chapter Five. If the door to Cabin 10 was broken into in Chapter One by Abigail and Emma, then Dylan will get bitten by a werewolf on his hand while reaching for a wire. Do not cut off his hand, and he will stay infected.
In a game with nine playable characters, Ryan is one of two characters that can be declared the main protagonist. Brooding, sarcastic, stubborn, and pedantic, Ryan plays an essential role in The Quarry. Just like the other characters, Ryan has his admirable moments alongside his unsavory ones.

Ryan can be infected in Chapter 8 when he accepts Laura's bite after learning that without becoming a werewolf, he can die of blood loss. Ryan never turns into a werewolf as he either kills Chris the werewolf and is cured or is killed by Chris.
Both Kaitlyn and Dylan have a crush on Ryan, made evident by Dylan's furtive flirting alongside Kaitlyn outwardly stating it to Jacob in Chapter 1. Ryan himself mentions later on that he doesn't mind the attention he receives from either of them, hinting that he isn't attracted to just a single gender.
We'll be able to show the bite or hide it. Although this is presented as a major choice, it's completely inconsequential. If you don't show the bite, Ryan will notice it immediately, nixing the decision. It's another choice where you're better off picking how you feel your Laura would respond to the situation.
First, Ryan will be stabbed by Bobby. You will get the opportunity to remove the knife, but it is better to leave it in. You will have to make an escape here and taking the knife out will only make things harder for Ryan. You will need to succeed in running and hiding from Bobby.
Nick is arguably the toughest character to keep alive in The Quarry, but it is possible to save him with some help from the other counselors.
If he shot himself or did nothing, it will max out. The pair will listen to Emily - if she escaped the mines - and the Stranger inform them about the Wendigos.
Picking the TAKE VIAL option leads to Laura staying alive alone while Travis and Ryan die a brutal death, whereas GIVE TO RYAN option will mask Ryan's scent and protect him from the werewolf's attack after the monster ends Travis and Laura's life.
Sometimes Ryan won't notice his flirting, other times he'll show interest and flirt back. If Ryan chooses to kiss Dylan for a Dare, Dylan is happy; if he kisses Kaitlyn, a message will show on screen saying Dylan is disappointed.
On the rooftop, during their conversation, players will be given the option to hug or kiss Ryan. Hugging Ryan essentially expresses disinterest and lets him down easy, so, this is the time to seal the partnership with a kiss.
The first interaction you will want to choose as Ryan when given the choice between desperate and terrified is to choose desperate. The next choice you must make is to choose the chainsaw and cut off his arm. The chainsaw is guaranteed to get rid of the curse of lycanthropy.
If bitten, Dylan urges Ryan to cut his hand off, but if Ryan accepts, Dylan will be upset. Ryan leaves with Laura to save Chris after reassuring Dylan he'll be fine. If Laura asks about Kaitlyn, Ryan can say he's closer to Dylan but doesn't know if he likes him, or that he's embarrassed of having suitors.
If Dylan is infected in Chapter 5 and Ryan does not cut off his hand, Dylan's survival is guaranteed, as Silas (and possibly Emma) won't attack him, he'll turn into a werewolf and no one can kill him.
